Chapter Forty Nine

Third Person Pov

Liam had given Lydia and Nicholas privacy and gone back to sort out the mess that was created at the party. Nicholas had wanted to be alone because he had a lot on his mind, but he couldn't possibly tell Lydia to leave. He knew that he was the one who kept her here in the first place, and it would be selfish of him to ask her to leave, knowing that he was the reason she stayed behind.

Both Lydia and Nicholas were seated on the sofa in the room, and Lydia could sense that Nicholas was worried and unhappy. She didn't know what to say to him that could lift his mood, but she was trying to avoid saying anything that would upset him because she knew that his tolerance was very low at the moment.

“I'm so sorry that you have to be here to deal with all of this,” Nicholas suddenly said to Lydia's surprise, and she looked back at home with a confused expression on her face.
