Another dead end

SELENA'S POV

My face was in another shape, and the visuals were blurry because of the heavy tears in my eyes. All our efforts met a dead end. The reality that my kids weren't with me haunted my soul. Deep down, nothing seemed to be interesting to me, but I had to keep pushing till I got what I was looking for.

"Yes! I will be going with some extra men to find a seer who will lead us. It's getting late, and we might end up losing what we so much cherish." Tyler tried to encourage me as he squeezed me in his embrace. I sobbed uncontrollably till the door slowly cracked open. I didn't pay attention to it at first, but when I observed Tyler's silence, I had to raise my head to see who it was.

"Pete!!" I called him, but he ignored me and didn't bother to answer as he went to sit down. He wasn't looking good; something must have happened to him. I went to help him clean up, but he stopped me.
