Don't you want to hear my story again?

PETE'S POV

"What about the patient?" I asked the nurse as I was about to leave work.

"She is better now, but she asked everyone to leave the ward."

"And you did that?" I asked in a hasty manner and ran to check on her.

Getting to the ward, my heart melted. Her sitting position tells it all—the loneliness and pain. My brain went back to the good times Selena and I had together.

I thought of what to tell her, but I was still living in grievance. The wound in my heart is still fresh and might not heal anytime soon. I knew she didn't need only medication; psychological support might go a long way in the condition I saw in her.

I moved, and as I got to where she was and sat on the bed, she gave me a deadly look. I was shocked because that wasn't ordinary. It looks like a bloody witch who has been cast out of their world.
