Jude’s POV

Prophecies…. I fucking hate them.

A single damn Prophecy ruined my alpha coronation when I was eighteen years old, and turned my already stone cold heart into a heart sculptured statue made of ice.

Prophecies.

What are they? You may ask.

Where do they come from? Who may speak them? and do they always come true? You may wonder.

Prophecies are predictions about the future.

Near future or far?

It’s not clear. It can be either.

They are not always precise and fully understandable. Sometimes they never make sense even.

They come from the moon goddess.

The one who knows it all, but loves to drop down a handful of unsolvable mysteries upon her people whenever she’s probably bored and looking for some fun pass time, just to mess with us down here.

She has a special bond or connection to only one supernatural species, the warlocks.

Warlocks are the only ones who the moon goddess talks to when she wants to deliver a new Prophecy.

They are not as common as you may think. Both the warlocks and the prophecies.

Warlocks are quite rare nowadays, especially after a certain Prophecy was told.

A Prophecy as old as time.

‘The violet eyed werewolf is the ultimate weapon’

It goes back to centuries ago.

It still hasn’t come true yet.

Ever since that gloomy mysterious prophecy, Warlocks have been hunted down, captured by alphas, and used against their wills to cast tracking spells consistently to find said violet eyed werewolf and recruit it on their side, to control all other packs and keep themselves protected at the same time.

Warlocks became rare because forcing them into casting many spells each day without allowing them to regain their strength will drain them of their magic, slowly killing them from the inside out. Once they run out of magic, they die.

They became too rare, only the biggest of packs had a warlock on their sides.

Prophecies always come true. However long it takes to happen, but it does in the end come true. At least every single one did…so far.

The way a prophecy works may vary, depending on the nature of that particular prophecy.

The prophecy about the violet eyed werewolf being the ultimate weapon for example, was told by every practicing warlock around the globe at the same exact moment.

On the other hand, the prophecy that was told to me on my alpha coronation day, was specifically for me, it wasn’t general, so only the warlock working for my pack was the one to receive it and tell it.

So what was that damn prophecy?

I’ll come back to that, but first, let me introduce myself a little.

My name is Jude Campbell, the alpha of the Golden Valley pack. We are located in Golden Valley, North Dakota with a population of around three hundred werewolves and one female warlock.

We are the largest and strongest pack in all of North Dakota.

We are hidden from the human world by living deep in the woods with a guarded perimeter and private property warnings for trespassers.

I am twenty three years old. I have been appointed as the alpha of my pack for five years now, by my father Samuel, the previous alpha of the pack.

It was unusual for an alpha to be appointed so early at eighteen, but my father was practically on his death bed and had to step down before he died two months later at the age of fifty five.

You’d think that being a supernatural creature who has a wolf to heal him from all injuries fast before causing permanent damage to the human body, could live for a very long time, that was mostly the case. However, sometimes the wolf may decide to abandon his human and let it self die willingly. If said wolf had his heart broken over the loss of his mate fifteen years ago. There is only so much grief one can endure before he decides to join that mate in the afterlife.

My father’s wolf, Cornelius, stood by my father’s side only to get his son; that is me, to the proper age of leading the pack, before deciding that he had enough loneliness in this human world and gave up on his life.

My father, after his wolf left him, became very ill and died of a heart attack.

My mom, their mate, died when I was three years old. She was killed when another pack tried to fight with us over our territory.

I don’t remember her at all. I only know her from the pictures I keep hidden in my bedroom.

I’d go ahead and say it broke my father’s heart when she died. But the truth was, it felt like Cornelius was the one who suffered more than him. My father wasn’t the romantic, passionate type.

He was rather cold and distant, even to me, his own son.

I grew up knowing only coldness and indifference towards anyone. Just like him.

I grew up deprived of any warm feminine hugs, kisses, or touches.

Even sexually I was cold. I didn’t care who the hell I was fucking, as long as I drew my pleasure from her body. Kissing, embracing, and making love wasn’t my thing. I liked it rough and without any strings attached.

If one of the she wolves gets clingy and demands a deeper contact, I severe all ties with her and threaten her to keep her distance or she will lose her heart.

I grew up ruthless, dark, and without any mercy to anyone who wrongs me. But I wasn’t pure evil.

The only thing keeping me from going to the dark side was my kind, warm, soft wolf Elijah.

He was the complete utter opposite of my character.

He held a lot of compassion and kindness in him.

But at the same time, he was the strongest, most powerful wolf in the whole pack. He was unbeatable.

He was too strong, sometimes I would lose control over him and he takes over my mouth and body, forgiving a servant I was about to yell at for dropping a plate on the floor or smiling down at the running kids on the street.

He did it just to irritate me and show me that being kind doesn’t kill.

We always bicker with each other, almost all the time. But he was the closest one to me, he knew me very well, and understood how I think. He was a part of me I couldn’t shake off or shut up when he gets too soft and annoying inside my head.

The most annoying thing about Elijah was his obsession with our unknown mate.

He thinks about her all the time and has to plant pictures into my head consistently of the things he wants to do to her when he meets her, even though he doesn’t know what she looks like.

He does it on purpose even though he knows how much it annoys the shit out of me.

Even though he knows that I decided to kill her the moment I lay my eyes on her, without any hesitation or second guessing.

And that was the most annoying thing to him about me.

He would always get angry at me whenever I tell him to give it up because I was going to kill her right away.

I bet you’re wondering right about now as to why I wanted to kill my mate, the one who is supposed to be my other half, my companion, my whole reason for existence.

Well, take a wild guess.

That’s right, you nailed it.

That damn prophecy.

It all goes back to that night when I became the alpha.

Everyone was lining up to congratulate me on my new position.

Our Warlock, Anastasia was the last one to approach my throne.

She came closer to me and shook my hand firmly.

Suddenly, her bright green eyes glazed over and her smile dropped.

She leaned closer to my ear and whispered to me in a monotone very low voice that no one could hear but me.

“Your mate will be your downfall. Upon your violet eyed mate’s arrival, she will bring forth your pack’s destruction”

She backed away after that, blinked her eyes several times and looked at me in shock.

I was still holding on to her hand, as the shock wore off, I tugged her close till our faces were inches apart and said in a menacing low growl “Mention this prophecy to anyone and I will have you beheaded do you hear me?“

She nodded her head in utter fear.

“Find her for me” I ordered her.

She spent the next five years looking for the violet eyed werewolf, to no success.

That werewolf that was supposed to be the ultimate weapon.

The one who will be my downfall and my pack’s destruction.

Could the moon goddess have a more ironic sense of humor?

The most powerful werewolf of all time, the one that everyone has been desperately looking for for decades without any success, turned out to be my mate.

My mate that will become the death of me along with my pack.

Fuck this shit.

I never wanted a mate in the first place so it wasn’t like I was so desperate to keep her alive, resist my fate, jeopardize my life and my pack’s, fight through hell just for her sake.

I’d just kill the bitch before she ends up killing me.

Better her than me.

“Yeah good luck with that while I’m still around… fucker” my wolf Elijah said so intensely then, letting me know just how serious he was about that statement that held no hint of his usual softness.

He was dead serious and protective when it comes to his mate ever since we heard that Prophecy and was determined to prevent it at all costs.

Now, five years later, no luck on finding the mate yet.

Anastasia had two theories as to why she couldn’t track her down with her spell during all those years of searching.

My mate was either still underage; meaning that her wolf hasn’t awakened yet, or she had a protective spell cast on her by a very powerful warlock preventing anyone from locating her.

I didn’t know which one was true, and I didn’t care.

One thing I was sure of, I will eventually find her.

Unfortunately, I hit a little bump on the road to hunting down my mate.

Anastasia; my only warlock, died a month ago of old age.

Despite her young appearance; which was an aging spell, she was very ancient.

I couldn’t blame her for dying really.

She tried to help me with all her power… until she couldn’t anymore.

And now, I was on the search for a new warlock to join my pack, but it was proving rather difficult, due to the decreasing number of unclaimed warlocks.

I just hope my violet eyed mate doesn’t decide to choose this completely unfortunate exact time to make an appearance on the world’s map.

Because that would give the other alphas; who were still searching for the violet eyed werewolf till this time, an advantage to find her before I do.

I was the only one allowed to hunt her down and destroy the ultimate weapon…my mate.

  • My Alpha, My Demise   Epilogue

The Moon Goddess’s POV I stand there on the balcony, as the slightly cold wind plays with my hair and white dress. I was watching my beautiful child from afar, Davina. She has grown into the best version of herself now, no longer lost, hurt, scared, hopeless, nor unhappy. She was wearing an alluring long, off shoulder straps, red dress. Her hair cascading down her back, shiny and straight, was being blown by the wind, giving her a look of a queen, which she most certainly was. She just stepped outside to the balcony attached to the ball room where she was just introduced to her whole pack as their Luna, and Jude’s official mate. The pack, after witnessing everything that took place on that field this morning, and how she went through hell and back to bring back their alpha, welcomed her with arms wide open and bowed down to her, vowing to always respect and protect her. Not that she was incapable of protecting herself. The ball was just about to end and Davina wanted to catch som

Jude’s POV“Holy shit! I still can’t believe everything you just told me” I said in wide disbelief as my mind tried to make sense of everything that happened after I died.We were all gathered in my bedroom. Davina was still sleeping deeply against my chest while I absently played with her silky long hair.Robert, Ian, and Irena were all sitting next to each other at the foot of the bed, facing us.I suspected Davina would turn dark due to my demise, but I didn’t expect it would go this far. She killed all the alphas, plus Robert’s sister and she did it all without an ounce of hesitation.“It could have been worse, honestly. I mean for a minute there, everyone truly believed that she was going to side with Lucy and destroy everyone who stands in her way, including us. Her love for you kept her sane thank goddess” said Ian in relief.“It wasn’t that” said Irena disagreeably.“What then?” I asked her curiously.“Her love for you is what turned her dark. She was gone, consumed wholly by

Davina’s POV With every ounce of concentration I had in me, and using every shred of power I could muster from my wolf Rowena; which she so willingly gave to me, I started casting what was probably the strongest spell that ever existed until now. It took a considerable amount of time to be performed. The incantation was complicated to read and very long, but I pronounced all the words with complete precision and focus, willing my entire being to believe that I will be able to pull it off. I finished the last word and I swear, my heart was going to explode out of anticipation. My eyes froze on Jude’s face. The seconds were stretching out to an unbearable degree. Then I felt it. The most intense pressure started building within me. The power that surged through me whenever I cast a spell usually wasn’t painful or anything, but this time it was. The power that claimed me whole like never before, was tearing me apart from the inside out. The power was slowly destroying my insides,

Davina’s POVThankfully, Robert didn’t say another word and stayed quiet as his tears rolled down his face with heart breaking agony for me.I turned to my aunt, extended my hand to her, and said sweetly “Shall I show you inside my pack house aunt Lucy? I’m dying to show you the grimoires I have in my room. There is a certain spell book that you will particularly love to read. It has so many dark spells that I’m dying to try with you by my side. We are going to rule the werewolf world and enslave them all like they did to you”She laughed a long evil laugh as she held my extended hand and we started walking together inside the gate. The second she entered through the shield, I cast a freezing spell on her.I let go of her frozen grip and stood in front of her with my arms crossed in front of me in mock triumph.“What the…?!” she gasped in confusion.“What’s wrong aunt Lucy? Can’t move anymore?” I asked in fake innocence. She gaped at me with her mouth open in disbelief.I widened my e

Davina’s POV I look at the remaining two alphas with coldness that made them shiver and tremble in place. They looked at each other and at the same time, knelt down on their knees in front of me. “You think this will get you off the hook? How about you start begging, and I might consider it” I said tauntingly. Their fighters were staring at them in complete shock and astonishment. An alpha never kneels to anyone, even if his life depended on it. Apparently, they valued their lives much more than their own self respect and dignity. Let’s see how far they can go to save their own fleshes. They were staring at me with huge wide eyes, wondering if I was being serious or not. I decided to let them know exactly how serious I am. To be honest, I was biding my time. I was trying to find the best way to kill Lucy. I was a hundred percent sure that she couldn’t be attacked, just like me. She must have taken her precautions and cast a shield around herself, nothing can go through that. “I
