The kiss, possessive, desperate, and achingly real still burned on my lips. Every word Drake had spoken, every confident promise to fight the darkness for me, had only driven the dagger of my guilt deeper.

I leaned back against the cool wood of my bedroom door, my fingers tracing the outline of my mouth, tasting his familiar, comforting presence one last time.

He loves me. He trusts me. And I’m about to prove that his trust was misplaced.
