Chapter 66. The fallen one

“Fate. She’s the archangel of fate,” My father quickly answered from right behind me as I entered the front door of our house.

Fate...

My mind whispered, watching my brother walk right ahead of me as he strode right towards the grand living room, instantly remembering Aleya’s words,

“...you brought him back.

You sentenced him to an endless life.

Because of you, he will never pass through the Guarded Kingdom’s gates; hence, he will never see his parents again.”

A heavy pang of guilt settled inside my chest, my legs moving faster on their own accord right towards him and before he could pour himself a drink from the mini-bar my hand clutched onto his arm, momentarily stopping his every action, our eyes instantly meeting and with a small and strained voice I whispered,

“I’m sorry...”

“I’m so sorry...” My voice raised a little bit, blinking back the small tears already prickling at the corners of my eyes, watching him stare at me for a couple of moments in complete silence b
