With a flick of his hand, Sean signaled for him to sit while he circled around to take his place behind the desk. Chris sank into the chair stiffly, unease written across his face.

“First time here?” Sean asked, settling into his chair with a casual ease that belied the sharpness in his eyes.

“Yes,” Chris admitted with a nod. Sean leaned forward an inch, assessing him critically.

“Why?” Sean’s voice was even, but the steeple of his fingers made him look like he was weighing Chris’s very existence.

“Sorry?” Chris faltered, not following him.

“Why are you here?” Sean repeated, the gesture giving his words a weight that made Chris shift nervously.

“I wandered aimlessly. I was homeless,” he explained. Sean leaned back and studied him in silence, calculating. Chris shrank slightly under his cutting gaze.

“You’re not a werewolf,” he pointed out casually, shrugging, but his eyes didn’t leave Chris, sharp and assessing, as if he was waiting for one mistake from him.

I’m loving the book so far. Can’t get enough! Happy that Sean didn’t hurt him. He’s actually being protective of Violet now.

  • My Beta Charming   Chaos Everywhere

Violet found herself brimming with rage, sharp and unrelenting. How had they been dragged into the chaos between Zen and Aurielus? It wasn’t their war, never had been. They hadn’t chosen this fight, nor should they be the ones paying for it with their lives. The thought of the coming morning filled her with dread. She feared the light of her life would be doused with the first hint of dawn, stolen before the sun had even fully risen. The wolves had been captured. Azriel had been thrown into a cell as well. All of it, every loss, every broken hope, traced back to Aurielus’s refusal to show up when it mattered most."Where are you hiding, Aurielus? Come back," she murmured, her voice breaking. "Save us." Tears streamed down her cheeks as the words left her lips, carrying a desperation she could no longer hold back. ............."You are the most beautiful thing that’s ever happened to me," Sean murmured, his gaze lingering on her face. Sleep had finally claimed her after hours of

  • My Beta Charming   Execution

Kael slammed himself against the bars, driven by a fierce need to break them. "Stop. You'll hurt yourself," Violet said, worried. He hadn't even healed fully yet. The wolf responded with a growl. The bars remained unyielding. No matter how many times he struck them, they refused to give way. Just then, a familiar howl reached his eardrum, causing every fur of his body to perk up. "Who is it?" Violet asked, confused. But Kael had recognized the howl. It belonged to the alpga King. Without hesitation, Kael threw his head back and howled in response, letting the Alpha know exactly where he was. The howl rang so loud in the small space that Violet had to cover her ears. A heavy silence fell right after that. The stillness was so loud that she could hear herself breathing. ............Vulcan followed the howl, his strides purposeful and unwavering. Each step carried him forward with intent until a troop of monsters blocked his path. They hissed in unison, their eyes dark and utterly

  • My Beta Charming   War Has Begun

The wolves howled, their noise reverberating through the air like war bells. The realm shook with the sheer intensity, the ground quaking underneath the weight of their relentless march. Vulcan led the march, his pointed canines catching the glint of light. The sight wasn't for the faint of heart. It was chaos everywhere, wolves ripping into monsters, cries of agony mixing with cries for bloodlust. Zen oversaw everything from the lofty tower of his castle. "How did they get in?" Zen asked, his voice low, edged with clear annoyance. His slaves had no answer to offer. "Probably one of the spies they caught," one of them dared speak. The wolves were advancing towards the castle. Zen's eyes locked on Vulcan. The alpha king had arrived to rescue his people."And...and they seem immune to spells," the slave added, dread trembling in his voice. Zen frowned, finding the piece of information utterly baffling. .................."Kael," Violet called again and again, tears spilling freel

  • My Beta Charming   Tortures To The Wolf

He didn't stop there. He thrashed him, making sure every punch hurt him. However, he was stopped short by two of his minions who yanked him by his shoulders and dragged him backward until a safe distance was created between them.Vengeance smoldered in Zen’s eyes as he steadied himself and fixed his gaze on Sean. His skin had peeled away, revealing glowing embers beneath. He didn’t bleed. He wasn’t made of flesh at all. He was built of embers and something disgustingly gooey that made Violet's stomach queasy. But his skin stitched itself together in seconds, sealing away the ugliness beneath."As the royal commander, you possess bravery, but intellect is not among your strengths," Zen hissed, prowling closer. "You possess none, and yet you dare dream of the throne," Sean snapped back, eyes radiating hostility. Zen came to a stop in front of him. Eyes radiating malice and loathing. "The throne is mine. I'll claim it one way or another," Zen asserted, his voice eerily calm but loaded

  • My Beta Charming   Reuniting With Her

"I knew she would compensate for her betrayal," Zen drawled out, looking pleased by the sight. Sean stood before him, jaw clenched. There was not an ounce of fear in his eyes; if anything, it burned with raw anger. Now he could see where his slave had gotten her confidence from. "So you've spoiled my slave," he remarked. He was seated on his throne, and Sean was on the ground. "She is not your slave," Sean seethed, a dangerous edge to his voice. Despite being surrounded by enemies, he remained unafraid, firm. "Where is she?" he demanded, pushing against the heavy chains on him. "Don't worry. I'll take you to her," Zen said, now approaching him. The glint in his eyes was unnerving, hinting at something ominous. He stood before him, and his mouth curled into a smirk. "After all, this is the least I could do before sending you to hell." His voice carried amusement, as though killing him would be no more difficult than crushing a fly. "We'll see who'll be the one knocking on hell'

  • My Beta Charming   Confined

The spy murmured the spell, and the air split open, revealing a portal. Its outline crackled with purple electric waves. The wizard, then, turned his face to look at him, curiosity flashing in his eyes. The realm Beta was intent on barging into meant only death for mortals like him, yet Sean showed no fear. His resolve was set across his features, as unyielding as his spirit. The man watched him step into the realm without a moment’s hesitation. With him inside, the portal sealed shut and then finally disappeared into the thin air. This time, no illusion held his vision captive. It was dark and twisted like its creator. Jagged towers rose impossibly high, their broken peaks clawing at a starless sky, while twisted silhouettes loomed in the distance. It felt as though the realm itself breathed with malevolent intent. The place reeked of a foul smell. Sean pressed on, unaffected by his surroundings. He was blind to every threat, his eyes intent on the castle on the hill, looming over
