Chapter 21

Davis POV

"Sir you seem to be in an awfully good mood today. Is there anything we should work towards celebrating?" It was my secretary that was asking this question. She was dressed in corporate. However, her high ponytail and caked makeup made me want to throw up. It was clear she was trying to seduce. And I wondered how she could do that.

Before I used to have a thing for her, I think. But now, I only wished I could see a bit more of Sara. It was boring without her.

I remembered our spat this morning and felt very weak. How could I have let down my defenses of her so suddenly?

I sighed and continued what I was doing. As I entered my office, my secretary followed behind me. "Sir, there's a meeting this morning. You've missed half of it." I grabbed the brown envelope on my table and read the contents on the written piece of paper.

It was written by a commissioner's son. I knew that seal all too well.
