~ Jeremy’s POV~

The glass front of ‘Smiles Company’ rose ahead of me, its silver panels reflecting the late morning sun. I slowed as I approached the familiar, discreet back entrance, the one only the Lords used, and drew in a tight, grounding breath. My chest felt stiff. My pulse hummed in a slow, heavy rhythm.

Today was the day.

I would quit.

I would put the damned ring down, walk away from this fraternity, and reclaim my life.

My father’s words from three days ago replayed in my mind “If the meeting doesn’t go the way you want, I have a surprise for you.” I had held onto that line for days now.

I hadn’t given myself time to think about ‘her’

I had been busy trying to learn painting with my right arm, pending till the left heals. But it was torturing—because any time I lifted by brush, she came to mind to paint.

Shifting her away from my thoughts, I pressed my Lord’s card to the scanner and the automatic door slid open.

The hallway smelled faintly of wood polish and that sterile air

  • My Biker Stepbrother, My Ruin   The Burial

~Teyana’s POV~(A Week Later)I didn’t want to be here. I didn’t think I could. And yet, here I was. It was Chris’ burial. A week had passed since his death. The media frenzy, the chaos—it had only magnified the reality of the moment. It was even rumored that his father had closed down his company, same as his mother, because they were moving out of the country after his burial. After the news confirmed Chris had killed Dr. Smith and Adam, and had attempted to harm Maxton too, the world had labeled Maxton as someone who had taken the law into his own hands. He might get bail, the reports said, but penalties were inevitable. He was also getting heavy supports from his family members and friends. I heard that Jeremy had been also making sure that Maxton got bailed. Carol’s hand rested lightly on my shoulder in the cab. “We can go back if you don’t want to attend,” she said softly, her voice calm but tinged with concern.I managed a small, tentative smile. “No… I’ll go. I need to. To cl

  • My Biker Stepbrother, My Ruin   The Trauma Lives

~Teyana’s POV~“Don’t… please… don’t shoot.”The words kept leaving my mouth before I was even aware of where I was. They spilled out weakly, broken, threaded with panic, as if my body was still trapped in that room even though my mind was trying to crawl its way out.A hand settled over mine. It was warm and grounding.“Teyana. Hey. You’re okay. You’re safe.” I wanted to call his name- Jeremy. But that wasn’t Jeremy’s voice. Yet, it sounded familiar.I jerked upright with a sharp gasp, my eyes flying open as my body jolted into full consciousness. My chest heaved heavily as air rushed back into my lungs, my heart slamming so hard it hurt. White light blinded me for a second, sterile and too bright, and the sharp scent of antiseptic filled my nose.Hospital. That’s where I was. My head throbbed immediately, a dull but insistent ache that made me wince as I lifted my hand to my forehead. Something rough met my fingers—bandages plastered on my forehead. That was when I noticed the IV t

  • My Biker Stepbrother, My Ruin   The Psychopath Fell

~Jeremy’s POV~For a fraction of a second, everything went silent. The kind of silence that followed something irreversible. The kind that sucked all the air out of the room and left your ears ringing even when no sound remained. My heart pounded harder than it had ever been. Chris was going to shoot Teyana, but she was still here- alive and breathing- hard. My gaze slowly darted to the floor. Chris lay sprawled on the there, motionless. Completely still.Chris. Chris Dales. He is dead. I felt bile rise to my throat. I had never been this traumatized in my entire life. I was going to shoot him, but it wasn’t my gun that shot him.Blood crept out from beneath his head, spreading slowly, deliberately, like it had all the time in the world. The bullet had gone straight through his forehead. Clean and final. My fingers were still wrapped around the gun in my hand, my arms rigid, my chest heaving violently, but I knew, deep in my bones— even though I couldn’t actually differentiate reality

  • My Biker Stepbrother, My Ruin   The Gun Went Off

~Jeremy’s POV~Zayne said nothing, but his expression turned to stone. I glanced at the gun in my hand, then at Teyana. Guilt wedged through me. She looked so tired, so weak, like she could collapse anytime soon. I couldn’t wait to get her out here, yet, I couldn’t risk any stupid action.Chris wasn’t stupid. His gun was still pointed at her, even though he was talking to Zayne. “You know,” he said slowly, pacing the space between us with the gun still trained on Teyana, “you both always did this. Made me the third wheel. I was always there—but never really there. You never paid attention to me.”“That’s not true,” Zayne said firmly. “Chris, you know that isn’t true.”“Shut your damn mouth!” Chris roared, swinging the gun toward him. “Just shut up!”The room vibrated with his rage. The air felt charged, brittle- like anything could shatter it.“Don’t shoot him, Chris. Please.” I begged.“This ends here,” Chris continued, breathing hard. “Right now. Jeremy—if you don’t kill him…” He t

  • My Biker Stepbrother, My Ruin   The Rescue Point

(Minutes Earlier)~Jeremy’s POV~I didn’t hear Zayne at first. My pulse was a roar in my ears, an engine running wild.“You will kill us both at this point if you do not slow down,” he warned sharply.Only then did my foot ease off the accelerator. I hadn’t realized how reckless I’d been driving. I didn’t care. We were close—so close to Glemont, close to wherever Chris had taken her. I knew it was Glemont. Had to be. Every minute wasted felt like another inch Chris dragged Teyana toward death.“We’re almost there,” I muttered, jaw locked tight. From the back seat Knox leaned forward. “Either of you have a gun?”“Fuck.” I slapped the steering wheel. “I’m not with one.”Zayne shook his head. “Wasn’t expecting today to turn out like this. I don’t have it with me either.”“Here.” Knox shoved something cold and metallic into my hand. A compact handgun. “Sir Jeremy should have it. He’s going in first.”Zayne tensed beside me. “I actually don’t think that’s a good idea. His head’s all over t

  • My Biker Stepbrother, My Ruin   The Psycopath

~Teyana’s POV~Pain. A searing, unrelenting pain throbbed through the back of my head. My eyelids felt like they were weighed down by bricks, heavy and reluctant, but somehow, slowly, I forced them open.Light- too bright- stabbed my vision. My mind swam in a fog- blank and uncooperative, memories flickering like dying embers in my head. Where… where am I?I tried to move, but my arms were pinned. My legs too. A tight, unyielding rope bit into my wrists and ankles. My chest rose and fell erratically as my breath caught in my throat. And then my eyes moved—slowly, cautiously, and opened. I almost regretted opening them, because what they landed on would traumatize me forever.A dead body.I almost screamed. Was I dreaming? An unmoving body- that of a man- was on the floor beside me. Blood pooled in a dark, grotesque halo around it. My mind struggled to make sense, to connect the pieces, but the figure… I didn’t recognize him. My pulse jumped, heart pounding fast it gave a wild, deafen
