It's been almost 3 hours since I left San Francisco. I closed my eyes for a moment while pressing my temple against the cold bus window. I can't use the plane because Nick can track it easily. So I took the night bus bound for California. Greg had booked a plane ticket on my behalf to Washington DC, only to temporarily distract Nick. I've also left a little trail indicating I'm going to Washington.

I hug my backpack which contains several clothes and two bottles of blood. I only carry cash, the only way to reach Greg if I need help is a public phone.
