Kourtney

My phone rang jolting me up from sleep, it was the alarm I had set for 7pm, the launch party would begin at night and here I was naked on the bed with my boss rather than getting ready.

I turned to look at his naked body, his manhood lay lifeless like it wasn't active a few hours ago.

For a few seconds I didn't move, I just sat there watching him sleep and reminiscing about our intimacy.

My phone rang again for the second time and I knew I was gonna be late.

Ethan get up, I shook him violently.

He dragged me back to his body, I layed there listening to his heartbeat, it was slow and steady and somehow soothing, I tried to match my heartbeat to his. There was a warm feeling deep within me. It was something I've never felt before. I didn't want to get up. I just wanted to lay there all night long,just us two.

What if I was falling in love? The question struck in my head. Hell no I can't fall in love with my boss besides I don't think I'd wanna spend my life with a man who has no control over his sexual desires.

I lifted my head carefully and reached for my phone beside the table.

I almost screamed

I had spent 48 minutes listening to his heartbeat and wondering if I was in love. What a silly way to waste my time.

Ethan get up and we'll be late for the launch party.

He stretched on the bed, turning from sides to sides.

Lay back down Kourtney,they can start the event without us.

Come on, it's your launch party and everyone is expecting you, especially your father.

Fine, you whine a lot. Your dress and my outfit is in my room. I had them deliver it while we were at the office.

Alright, I'll go get my dress, you should get up and go freshen up in your room.

I climbed out of bed and grabbed my clothes from the floor,the sight of them scattered around his room made me pause. This wasn't supposed to happen.

Not like this.

When Ethan offered me the contract we had set the rules

No feelings whatsoever, no intimacy.

We would attend events together, play the perfect couple in front of the world, boost sales of the new magazine with our IT couple branding and when the contract ended, we'd be cordial or go our separate ways.The contract was simple,clean and professional.

Looking back now, we have broken about eighty percent of the contract. And somehow I wished the remaining twenty percent would be broken too.

By 9:30 pm we headed to the venue,we were already thirty minutes late but it was worth it. We had all the guests seated and the spotlight was just on us. The driver pulled up to the entrance of the hall, all the lights were on us, the blinding lights of the paparazzi flickering as they took pictures,I could barely see. Journalists were screaming our names. We faced different directions taking pictures,his hands on my waist throughout the entire process.

We kept on posing. He grabbed me immediately, bent me over and planted a kiss.I was shocked but the move was spectacular, it had the audience chorusing “awwww” we had successfully given them another IT couple moment.

The launch was a success,people loved the magazine, the speeches went well.

The cover reveal got a huge reaction.

Ethan was pulled from one conversation to another while I followed him around,making sure everything went smoothly.

But tonight, I wasn't just his assistant.

I was his girlfriend.

At least in everyone's eyes.

I began wondering how it'd feel if we were actually a couple, without the contract and that's when it dawned on me…

I am in love with my boss!

By the time we got back to my house, Kourtney was already exhausted. She took off her heels by the entrance as I shut the door behind.

Tonight is exhausting, I'm so relieved I can finally take off these shoes. She whined

The shoes did look good on you babe.

Well they're trying to take my life and stop calling me babe Ethan. She turned and gave me a look

I don't think you actually want me to stop cause you keep blushing each time I do.

She rolled her eyes as she made her way to the room.

Go shower and meet me downstairs.

She turned and gave me the look again.

Stop barking commands at me Ethan,I'm not your staff right now.

Unfortunately for you, you are.

She stared at me.

You're so bossy.

I'm your boss, aren't I?

She shook her head and kept walking.

You're impossible Ethan.

A few minutes later we were both downstairs, my home staff had ordered a takeout, everything was perfectly laid on the table. We sat to enjoy our meal.

The magazine launch had been a success,The press coverage would be good, The investors were pleased and the staff were happy but I don't think I am happy.

Why aren't you happy? She looked up at me. Her cheeks puffy from stuffing food in her mouth.

You're not laying on my body that's why.

She laughed.

That was actually smooth, well I might lay on your body if I'm feeling happy after this meal.

There was something quite special about Kourtney that made her stand out from all the other girls I've been with. She's my assistant and this whole contract thing has made us even closer and oddly I can't stay a moment without thinking about her.

I knew I wasn't in love with her, I just developed a soft spot that cared for her. I'm not the type to fall in love. I'd get bored.

Watching her eat made me feel happy,it came with a weird sense of peace,she was cute and hot especially in this night apparel. I just wanted to tear it off her skin and make her mine.

Fuck the thoughts I went over to her lifted her up onto the table started kissing her from her lips down to her neck slowly ripping off the nightie she had on, I heard her subtle moans as my fingers played with her nipples. My manhood was fully erect. I wanted nothing more than to be in her. Everything went by fast and in no time we were both laying on the kitchen floor panting from the rough sex we just had.

This became our ritual,I didn't even realize how much time had passed.One day turned into another.

Then another.

And somehow, Kourtney and I had spent days doing nothing but disappearing from the office to my house together.

She'd come over after work,I'd tell her to stay while she kept whining about the things she had to do.

I'd remind her that I was her boss.

Then she'd stay.

We'd eat together, argue about stupid things, watch movies neither of us finished and end up in my bedroom more often than we probably should have.

For a while it felt like we were on our honeymoon just that we weren't married nor were we a real couple. We were on a contract and somehow the rules of the contract had been broken for the past two months of being together.

She was practically living with me now,she barely spent time at her place anymore,her clothes were at my place,her skincare was taking up space in my bathroom,her favorite snacks were permanently stocked in my kitchen but I was loving it all.

Up until one morning, I noticed something was wrong. She was sitting at the kitchen island staring at her phone,she hadn't touched her breakfast. Which was quite unusual.

I walked over

What's wrong

Nothing,she replied.

You're not eating I inquired

I barely have an appetite

Alright

This kept happening for the next few days,she barely ate,she became more reserved and avoided physical touch.

One evening, I found her standing in the bathroom staring at something in her hand.She looked up when she saw me her face was pale.

What happened?

She didn't answer.

I stepped closer.

I'm pregnant. She blurted

Everything in me went still, I was in shock, I stared at her.

Are you sure?

She handed the pregnancy test to me.

I took three tests and they all came out positive.

She turned to face me, she wasn't terrified, rather she looked happy.

I was terrified, I'm not ready for a child and I'm definitely not ready to settle down. We're in a contract relationship which will end in a month's time.

She was looking at me with so much hope in her eyes but I really wasn't going to commit to something I'm not prepared for.

Get rid of it!

The words came out of my mouth with no emotions whatsoever.

Ethan

Get rid of it, I repeated.

I can't get rid of this baby Ethan. We've been together for two months now and I thought things were going well.

Well you thought wrong, we're still in a contract and till that contract ends I'm not going to father any child and how sure am I that the child is even mine.

She stood there looking at me in disbelief.

Look I know I promised to get your designs out and I did just that, the magazine sales have been going very well, I've been able to convince my father and the board and everything is balanced. We can even end the contract today rather than waiting one more month to do so.

I thought we were… the words couldn't find a way out of her mouth. She started crying and I watched her. I couldn't do anything,this was best for us.

I'll send some money, the driver will take you down to the hospital tomorrow, make sure you get rid of that human growing inside of you. And you can stay here till you feel better after which you'll get your stuff and leave.

I know,she said,quietly then she touched her stomach.

I looked at her.

I knew exactly what I wanted.

Or at least I thought I did.

I didn't want marriage,I didn't want a family and I didn't want my entire life changing because of one mistake.

The next few days after Kourtney told me she was pregnant and refused to abort the baby I didn't know what to do so I did what I was good at.

I stayed out late, spent less time in the office to avoid running into her often. I gave her so much work to handle until I could come up with a solution that'll favor me.

At first, she didn't say anything,she probably thought I was just processing everything. But the truth was, I was avoiding her. Every time I looked at her, all I could think about was the baby, my life, everything I was about to lose and I wasn't ready for that.

She kept trying to communicate but I wasn't ready to hear her plea to keep the baby and then one night while I was out drinking and partying I got a text from her.

We need to talk about this baby.

I stared at the screen.

Then another message came through.

I've already made my decision.

I was confused as to what she was talking about then the third message dropped

I'm keeping the baby, with or without you!
