Chapter 12

It came as no surprise when Scarlett woke up alone in bed. Griffin hugging her all night had been too good to be true, and now the emptiness in her heart spoke volumes.

They would never be an item.

With pain in her chest, Scarlett got dressed. She headed down the stairs and ventured into the kitchen. Jake was there, reading a news magazine from a rocking chair.

His eyes landed on Scarlett. "Good morning."

Anger boiled within Scarlett's veins. How dare Jake sit there and drink coffee and say good morning as if he never sent that video yesterday? Scarlett had seen him fucking another woman!

"Good morning," Scarlett came to an abrupt halt and eyed her boyfriend until he lifted an eyebrow at her.

"Is something the matter?"

"Is something the matter?" Scarlett was close to hissing and shook her head in disbelief. "You ask me that after the video you sent yesterday? Are you serious, Jake? I know I'm not a perfect girlfriend either, but—"
