Chapter 3

Author: Moon Season
I asked for an astronomical amount right away. "Two million dollars."

I had asked for this amount because I knew Yasmin had made a lot of money through my parents. I would make her return everything she had taken from me.

The door handle of the bedroom turned slightly, then sprang back. I knew Yasmin wanted to come out and question me, but she was worried that I might discover the truth.

In the end, Yasmin gave in and transferred the money to my account. Worried that she would change her mind, I even signed a contract.

I finally felt relieved after receiving the two million dollars.

After that, the snake was sent away.

I should be working on filing for divorce, and I would take my time to seek revenge. But later, Mom caught the flu and fell sick, and Dad suddenly had a stroke.

I also realized that my health was deteriorating. I slept longer than I usually did, and I was too exhausted to do anything.

I couldn't take it anymore, so I went to a fortune teller. He gave me a secretive look and said, "Your family has offended a supernatural presence, and there's also a mole in your household. I'm not going to get involved in this matter, but I have to remind you to be careful of your partner."

I forced Yasmin to stay home for two days. I wanted to know where she hid the snake and what she had been doing.

On the third day, she couldn't hold herself back anymore. Her face was flushed red during the day, and she often went into the bathroom with a cucumber.

That night, she secretly got up and dashed out without wearing her bra.

I gulped down a cup of coffee and trailed behind her quietly.

Yasmin drove to a house on the outskirts.

I heard that people kept urns in the houses in this neighborhood, and many of them practiced black magic. I wondered why Yasmin would keep the snake here.

She opened the door. Her face was flushed red when she rushed in and removed her clothes.

Seeing her, the snake raised its tail and flashed its genitals. Soon, they wrapped their bodies around each other again.

Yasmin started moving on her own and exclaimed, "Honey… Honey!"

The snake shook excitedly. Its heart was pounding, and it was overwhelmed with an intense wave of pleasure.

Soon, Yasmin felt a rush of pleasure and let out a moan.

But I knew they would do it again and again until the floor was slick with mucus and the air filled with a foul stench.

They held each other, murmuring in low voices. I put up with how disgusting everything was and went closer to eavesdrop on their conversation.

Holding the snake, Yasmin said to it as if it were a human, "Honey, bear with this a bit longer. Our plan will succeed soon! That jerk Christopher is dying. By then, I'll give his body to you, and all his money will be ours."

The snake pressed its cold scales against her.

Yasmin blushed instantly. "Don't worry. As long as I still have the emerald I gave him, I can swap your bodies at any time. He's an idiot. I told him that my late parents gave the emerald to me, and he really treasures it!"

The snake kept rubbing its scales against her skin.

Yasmin moaned in satisfaction and said impatiently, "Although he's dying, he's still highly alert. Once I get the chance to bring him and the emerald here, we will proceed with our plan."

If I came here with the emerald, I would vanish forever.

I stared at the emerald resting on my chest and felt somewhat uneasy. I stepped back subconsciously and accidentally kicked the railing. A sharp clank rang out.

The snake's crimson eyes shifted instantly.

Yasmin shot to her feet and asked, "Who's there?"

Yasmin was baffled and stared at me. "How… How did you untie the rope?"I rubbed my swollen wrist and casually covered the camera at the corner with my shirt."I'm too desperate to tear you to pieces, so I cut off the ropes with my willpower," I said.Yasmin screamed, "Impossible! It's either you're crazy, or I'm out of my mind!"I smirked. "I was just kidding. Actually, I bought off all the bodyguards.""What did you say?" Yasmin turned around anxiously, but the bodyguard punched her, and she fainted. The rest of the bodyguards rushed in. Their leader gave me a look and said, "Remember your promise."I nodded. "Split the two million dollars among yourselves. I won't give you a cent less."According to what my dad had told me, lives mattered more than money. I had taken the money from Yasmin anyway. It'd be better to give it to people who needed it more than keeping it for Yasmin.I knew Yasmin didn't have much money left, so the pay for the bodyguards definitely wasn't high.

"I see," I said. My eyes were red, and I knew the odds were against me. But I wanted to know the reason behind all this. "At least let me know the truth before I die. I hatched the snake egg myself. It's impossible that it'll fall in love with you and betray me."Even if it was a cold-blooded animal, it always clung to me affectionately while I was raising it. I believed the snake had a special bond with me.Yasmin sneered at my words. "Do you mean your snake? I boiled it a long time ago, then fed it to the stray dogs. It was gone in seconds."It turned out that the snake I raised had been killed by Yasmin long ago, and she had swapped it with the snake she hooked up with.I had been consumed by love and happiness, and I hadn't even noticed that. Guilt and remorse overwhelmed me. Yasmin spread her arms, seemingly unbothered. "I had no choice. It bit me when I touched it."My eyes turned red. "Yasmin, you deserve to die."Yasmin smiled happily. "I had my eyes on you because

I slowly trailed behind Yasmin secretly. Then, I saw her entering a run-down building.Under the dark sky, I crouched beneath the window of the room and realized that it was a library.Yasmin flipped through an ancient book. After reading for a while, she frowned. "Serious illnesses are a special case and cannot be cured after the bodies are swapped. In such cases, it's recommended to remove the organ."She left with a solemn expression, muttering under her breath.I knew she would come after me sooner than expected. But I only pretended that I had cancer. After Yasmin left, I went in to grab the book. It was stated in the book that the ritual could be performed in the dimmest place. It seemed like they had given up on performing the ritual in that remote area after I discovered Yasmin having sex with the snake.I kept reading and tried to understand the content.Once the ritual was performed, both parties would die if they failed to swap their bodies.I took a deep breath and

I panicked and recalled that I had left the emerald in the car just now.Yasmin's hand, which was holding the knife, slid under the blanket. I could feel a chill creep up my back.Just then, the doorbell suddenly rang. Yasmin quickly put away the knife, while I stood up to open the door. When I walked out of the house, I almost collapsed to my knees. The deliveryman caught me in time. "I have the thing," he said. He was my friend, the private investigator. I was relieved and signaled for him to play along.Yasmin followed me out and shot the deliveryman a threatening look. "What did you buy?"I took the parcel and opened it up right away. There was an emerald inside, and it looked identical to the one given by Yasmin. Seeing that made me relax.Fortunately, I had told my friend about it and requested him to make a fake emerald.I turned and smiled at Yasmin. "I saw some cracks on the emerald a few days ago, so I sent it to the jewelry store to have it repaired."I linked

I could see Yasmin's and the snake's piercing gazes through the gap in the door. Anxiously, I got up and fled out of the place.Fortunately, I had coffee before I drove here. I swiftly got into the car and sped away. When Yasmin dashed out of the building, my car had already left the area, but I knew she would grow suspicious. When I returned home, I quickly called Mom, who was sick, and briefly explained everything to her.Mom frowned and said, "That doesn't sound right. Didn't Yasmin say she lost her parents when she was three years old and grew up in the orphanage? Why does it seem like she has known the snake for a long time?"I was terrified that I couldn't stop trembling. "I bought a snake egg and hatched it. The snake has been with me since it was young. Why has it become like this?"Yasmin would be home soon. I dared not keep the conversation going and reminded Mom to stay in the hospital to take care of Dad. Since there were more people there, I could be at ease. Then,
