CHAPTER FOUR

She would not share her man with her or anybody.

Leila rolled her eyes. Was she surprised and disappointed she didn't get fired after meeting with the CEO?

"Well, It seems I didn't get fired at the end of the day. The shame is on you."

Leila was not the type to speak rudely to people but she felt Reg disrespected her.

Did she truly want her to be fired?

They were all glaring at her like she was just a piece of shit.

Reg threw Leila an awful look.

She had underestimated Leila.

"Did you seduce the CEO?"

The CEO was a very handsome man.

Even though they all had a huge crush on David, none had the nerve to profess love to him.

David had only been her man in her head.

Leila's eyes widened. She was losing patience.

Seduce him?

She tried to calm herself down.

"What if I did seduce him? What if we have something going on? Should you not be afraid I will persuade him to just fire you?"

Reg was taken aback.

Anger flickered in her eyes. She would have called Leila a bitch but she restrained herself and just hissed instead.

"I have forgotten. You're not even close to his type of woman. He would not stoop so low."

She laughed.

Leila bit her lips. She was annoyed. She had done nothing wrong to Reg but she chose to annoy her this way.

Leila was now more determined than ever before. She would make sure that she didn't get fired.

She would not lose.

After the meeting with the clients had ended, David sent for Leila.

Adam learned that David had called Leila to his office again.

He badly wanted to know what was going on between the two.

He could only satisfy his curiosity by eavesdropping outside the door. He bit his lips in disappointment when he could not hear their voice.

Leila became the talk of the company.

The news of David making coffee for Leila had spread like wildfire throughout the company.

"She seduced him."

A young employee said to the cleaner.

They all knew the bad-tempered CEO who had always fired his secretaries at any slight provocation.

But they all knew how women got swayed by his good looks too.

Leila was giggling and laughing at David's joke in his office.

Leila had now felt more relaxed than before.

She was wrong about him. He was a free-spirited person.

Why had no one cared to see the soft and lovely side of him?

Although he exuded a dangerous aura. Leila felt he was just protecting something he wanted no one to know about him.

"You're nothing like my past secretaries I fired unremorsefully. You're rare."

David knew it right from the moment she walked into his office.

Leila had swollen with questions racing through her mind.

It had been barely five hours since she started work and the CEO had grown fond of her already.

Where did she get it right?

was she just lucky?

She asked herself.

She had thought he was just an arrogant person. But talking with him now proved her wrong.

David knew how much Leila wanted to ask him many questions. It's evident on her face.

"Tell me, Leila. What is bothering you?"

Leila gasped.

He even cared to ask what was bothering her.

She stared intently at him. She was sure she had seen him before somewhere.

But why was the feeling painful?

People had expected she'd get fired, and to her utmost surprise, he was being friendly to her.

"Where did I get it right?"

She had let it out before she realized it.

David smiled at her. He was the boss after all. He could decide to be nice in a day and the next day, be dangerous.

He had no idea why he was being like this towards her alone.

He had never shown this side of him to any of his past secretaries and it had been barely five hours since he met her.

Something was different about her. He was curious to see what was it.

"The moment you entered my office."

She started getting it right the moment she entered his office with an air of humility surrounding her.

He loved how she submitted to him totally, not looking into his eyes the moment she entered his office.

She bent her head, looking down. That was submission and humility to him.

Leila was stunned.

What did he mean by she got it right the moment she entered his office?

Leila got home feeling excited.

Even though she wanted to brush the feeling off like it was zilch, she could not help but wonder if David had fallen in love with her.

Could it be love at first sight?

But why was she feeling excited about this?

She stood before the mirror for long gazing at her reflection in the mirror.

Her long dark hair fell below her delicate collarbones. She had enticing smooth satin skin and a perfect physical feature. Her beauty was free from gaudiness.

She could not help but admire herself, her reflection in the mirror. She cupped her face, smiling faintly at the mirror.

She was proud of herself.

Things were strangely going smoothly for her with her CEO.

Probably, his last secretaries were the problem. There might be something they were not just getting right.

She was so overwhelmed and had not paid attention to Scarlet who had just got in through the door.

She wasn't aware when she sat quietly in her bed.

She cleared her throat loudly.

Leila jolted.

"You didn't know when I entered. What are you thinking about?"

Leila never hid anything from her sister.

They were so close and never hid anything from each other.

Leila sat closely with her in the bed.

She wanted to tell her everything that happened to her at work.

Then she remembered something.

She stood abruptly. Her heart pounded. She remembered now.

She remembered where she had seen David.
