The Race

Sebastian drove down to the Velocity driving race track. The race track had very full LED lights that covered the whole place. It was like daytime. Immediately the other racers saw him approaching, they began to yell and wave their hands. Sebastian giggled as he drove to them.

“Why are they so excited?” Stephanie asked, grinning widely.

“They are all my friends. I would do the same for any one of them.”

“So you love each other so much even though you compete?”

“Yes, Stephanie. There is no award for the winner. We race for fun.”

They got to where his friends were and he parked the car with the other cars. Some of them wore jumpsuits and some wore casual sportswear.

“Who is in the car with him?” Robbie, Sebastian’s very good friend, asked no one in particular. He narrowed his gaze as he watched them alight.

They all raised their brows immediately and set their eyes on Stephanie.

“Ooouuu... She is damn hot!” His male friends uttered, folding their hands in circles over their mouths.

Robbie stared at Sebastian with a suspicious grin on his face. Stephanie noticed the way they stared, and she became so shy. She wasn't sure she wanted to move closer to them.

She rested her back on the car and watched Sebastian greet his friends.

“Hey...” He shook their hands and gave them the Bro hug. He got to Robbie and they both smiled widely before they embraced each other tightly.

“How are you, man?”

“I’m good. I'm sorry for keeping you all waiting. I had to do a few things before heading down here.”

“Hmm... Is she part of the few things?” he threw his jaw in the air, looking over his shoulders at Stephanie. Sebastian looked back at Stephanie and smiled.

“Maybe...” He waved at Stephanie to come closer.

Stephanie smiled feebly after seeing all eyes were still on her, Including the ladies that were present.

Her eyes fell on a lady that wore jean bum shorts that stopped on her huge buttocks, and a white tiny strap singlet that exposed the shape of her full round breasts. Her nipples were pointed and they threatened to pierce the singlet open. In her hands were two green checkered flags and on her feet were black toe cleave stiletto heels.

The lady stared at Stephanie scornfully and as she saw Stephanie approach Sebastian, she also walked up to him and stood in front of him, pushing Robbie away stylishly.

“Hi, Sebastian. You arrived late today. Is everything okay?” Her face was full of excitement as she spoke.

Stephanie could sense the fake spirit in her, and she got irritated almost instantly.

“I am fine, Jennifer. Thank you.” Sebastian looked at Stephanie who was standing next to him with a beaming smile on his face.

“Jennifer, you saw I was still talking to him, and you pushed me away?” Robbie asked in disgust.

“Oh, please. You two were done talking. I watched you two before coming.”

Stephanie exhaled and looked away, she was getting tired of Jennifer already.

“Robbie, this is Stephanie. And Stephanie, this is Robbie, my very good friend.”

“Nice meeting you, Stephanie.” He moved closer to her, and before he could stretch his hand, Jennifer pushed him again and strutted away.

“What the hell!” He looked at her in disgust as she walked away.

“Just ignore her, Robbie. You know she loves seeking attention.”

Robbie heaved a sigh and turned his head to look at Stephanie. He smiled again and stretched his hand to her.

“Nice meeting you once again, Stephanie.”

“Nice meeting you too, Robbie“ She kept her smile firm and moderate.

“So...”

“All racers should get into their cars! The race starts in two minutes!” The announcement made by a young-looking man holding a megaphone interrupted Sebastian’s statement.

“You should go now,” Robbie said to him, and he nodded.

“Sit up there and watch me okay?” He pointed to the seatings that surrounded the center pitch with each row positioned at a slightly higher level than the ones in front. Stephanie bounced her head excitedly and waved at him. He waved back at her as he ran back to the car.

He got to the car and one of the other racers hurled a helmet at him.

“Thanks, man.” He raised the helmet and the racer gave him a salute.

Stephanie could sense the happiness in him as he sat and prepared himself for the race. She was also eager to watch it.

“We should go up there.” Robbie uttered, and Stephanie looked at him.

“Yes, sure.”

They, amidst the seating, moved to the top row.

They looked down at the race track, and they could see how aligned all the racing cars were. Stephanie scanned the cars that were at the starting point, and she figured out that Sebastian was number three. There were about seven cars prepared to race.

“My bet is on Number five.” Robbie pulled out some dollars from his pockets and showed them to her. The car that was number five was black, with white stripes on them.

“Number five? Hell no! My beat is on Number three.” She pulled out some dollar notes from her purse and showed them to him.

“Of course, he is your boyfriend. You should place your bet on him.”

Stephanie creased her brows and looked at him.

“He is not my boyfriend. We are just friends.” She giggled as she spoke.

“Just friends? Wow, you two must be very close then.”

“Why do you say so?”

“He has never brought any girl here to watch him race since I knew him. I always came alone. That was why I was shocked to see you with him.”

Stephanie kept mute and stared at Robbie, thinking about what he had said. Robbie kept his eyes on the racetrack and saw Jennifer stride to the front of the cars.

“She is so full of herself,” Robbie mumbled, jolting Stephanie out of her thoughts. She looked at the racetrack and saw Jennifer. The headlights of the car shone on her body, and she moved her buttocks playfully, waving the flags in the air.

“You think so?”

“Yes, I know so. I am so happy Sebastian doesn't give her the attention she wants from him.”

“She likes him?”

“All ladies love Sebastian and want to have a relationship with him. Even if it is not more than a nightstand.”

“Wow...”

The sound of the starter pistol filled the air, and Jennifer waved the flag downwards. The cars made roaring sounds as they moved immediately. The race began.

Stephanie watched closely, and after a few minutes, she saw three cars in front of the others.

“Hold on a sec! Sebastian’s car is not in front!” Stephanie yelled in disbelief. Robbie broke into laughter after seeing car number five take the lead.

“I know he wouldn't break my heart!” Robbie yelled in excitement.

All of a sudden, the second car took the lead. Stephanie kept her eyes on Sebastian’s car which was the only plain red car on the racetrack.

“You can do this, Sebastian. I can't lose the remaining cash with me.” Stephanie crossed her fingers and closed her eyes.

“What?! How is that possible!”

Stephanie heard Robbie yell after a few minutes. She quickly opened her eyes, and her jaw slacked when she saw the plain red car in front.

“That is Sebastian! By Sebastian!” She screamed.

It was like a miracle. Stephanie couldn't contain the excitement she felt at that moment.

The people stood up in amusement as Sebastian’s car crossed the finish line first.

The other cars followed behind Sebastian, and Robbie’s bet came third.

They parked the cars and the racers got out.

Stephanie ran down the seatings and headed to where Sebastian was. She got on the racetrack, and as soon as Sebastian saw her, he opened his arms wide and ran to her. They collided, and Sebastian lifted her from the ground.

She wrapped her hands around his neck, and he swiveled her around. They giggled and laughed loudly.

“You did well!” Stephanie said excitedly.

She got off him, and they stared at each other. Stephanie looked away after their stares got too intense.

“I did it for you,” Sebastian said to her, and she smiled shyly.

“Thank you.”

She kept her eyes away from him. She was too excited, but she called herself back to order before it was too late.
