Liliana’s Point of View

I smiled as I looked at them.

"Wait, something feels different. You're dressed so nicely and even did your hair. Why didn’t you call me?"

Because I already knew you'd pick those old-fashioned clothes again—nothing like what I’m wearing now.

“Oh, I forgot to call. But this suits me, right?” I smiled at her, then glanced at Gerald, who was staring at me, completely frozen.

He walked slowly toward me and gently removed my reading glasses. It was a good thing I had put in contact lenses today. I didn’t need glasses anymore, and my vision remained clear.

Gerald seemed even more stunned. Even my coworkers looked surprised to see me without my usual glasses.

"I didn’t know Liliana was this beautiful without her glasses."

"Gerald’s lucky to have her as his fiancée."

“Babe, you’re so beautiful.”

“But didn’t you say I looked better with my glasses on? Hair tied back, old clothes and all? That’s what Mirabelle told me you said.”

"Ah… well, you're beautiful no matter what

  • My Contracted Husband Is My Boss (Eng Ver.)   Chapter 29

Liliana’s Point of ViewI didn’t even realize it was already lunchtime. I had been so deep into work that the world outside my screen felt like a blur. Only when I heard a familiar voice did I snap out of it.“Babe, it’s lunchtime,” Gerald said, his voice soft, familiar—like something I had heard a thousand times before but still found comfort in.I turned to him slowly, blinking away the focus from my screen. Mirabelle stood beside him, arms crossed, lips pressed tight. There was something in her eyes—something unspoken, heavy.“Oh… I didn’t notice the time,” I mumbled, quickly locking my screen and gathering my things. Gerald helped me without a word, like he always did.“Let’s go?”I gave him a short smile and nodded. But then, I glanced at Mirabelle again and hesitated.“Uhm… are you coming with us?” I asked. She tilted her head slightly, confusion flashing across her face—maybe feigned, maybe not.“Didn’t he tell you? We have a lunch date today,” she said plainly. My brows knit t

Liliana’s Point of View“Huh?”I blinked, a little startled, and turned my head. Gerald was suddenly standing right beside me—I hadn’t even noticed him coming up.“What are you watching?” he asked, leaning closer and peeking at my phone.I quickly tapped my screen, switching to a random social media app. Just in time, a funny clip started playing, filling the silence with background laughter.“This,” I replied, giving him a tiny smile.“Oh. That’s the one we always watch together, right?”I nodded slowly, eyes on the screen, but my mind was more focused on him. “Yeah. I’ve been following all the new episodes.”“So… you done withdrawing?”“Yup. Got the cash. Let’s go?”“Yes, please. I’m starving.”He gave me another slow nod, but something in his expression shifted.“You’ve really changed lately,” he said as we started walking. “It’s like you’ve become someone else. You never used to admit you were hungry. Back then, you always left it to me to decide where we’d eat.”I tilted my head

Liliana's Point of ViewI swallowed hard as I looked at our Team Leader, Barbie.“D-Does his tone mean he’s angry already?”“Oh, come on, girl,” Barbie rolled his eyes dramatically. “You know how he is. That man always looks cold and emotionless no matter what. But seriously, what’s going on between you two? Why is he so fixated on you?”What was he talking about? The Asher I knew was completely different when we were together.Emotionless and cold? No way. He’s clingy, affectionate even. I’m usually the one pushing him away when he gets too close!“I-I don’t know either,” I said nervously. “Did he say anything else?”“He just asked you to go to his office. That’s it. But girl, my heart can’t take this. You better go before he blows up at me instead. I’m too fabulous to be yelled at.”“Fine, I’ll go. But you’re my friend, so defend me, okay?”“Nah, girl. Find out what he wants first. If your pitiful look doesn’t work, then turn on the charm.”“What are you even saying? Where’s your wo

Liliana jolted awake when her phone’s alarm blared by mistake. She silenced it, blinked at the wide space beside her, and glanced at the clock on the nightstand.“Two‑thirty in the morning,” she muttered. “Where are you, Gerald?”Unable to settle, she slipped out of bed. Gerald had stayed downstairs at their engagement party while she had come up early, half‑tipsy and exhausted. His absence now raised a warning in her heart.Liliana padded through the suite—no Gerald in the bathroom, none on the balcony. She tried calling him. A flat recording answered:“The number you dialed is unreachable.”A cold heaviness settled in her chest. She stepped into the hallway and almost stumbled over a pair of men’s shoes outside the room directly across from hers. Light glinted on the polished leather.“Gerald’s shoes,” she whispered, recognizing the scuff on the toe. “Did he wander into the wrong room?”Hesitating only a moment, she lifted the shoes, checked the familiar size, and eased the door ope

Liliana clutched the stranger’s hand while silent tears rolled down her cheeks. They were in the elevator, riding toward the hotel’s rooftop because—of all places—that was the only refuge the young man could think of.The doors opened. Liliana was still sobbing when they reached the windy deck, but she let him guide her across the gravel until they stood at the rail, the glittering city spread beneath them like a wounded galaxy.“Liliana.”She lifted her swollen eyes to the hotel attendant standing beside her. He drew a handkerchief from his pocket, removed her reading glasses with gentle fingers, and dabbed the tears from her face.“Don’t cry,” he said softly. “He doesn’t deserve your tears.”“I love him,” Liliana whispered, voice breaking. “I really love him. He’s my life. I gave him everything he needed—everything except my virginity, because I wanted to save that for our wedding night.”For three years Gerald had shown her what she thought was love, and she still could not grasp h

Liliana’s Point of ViewA harsh beam of sunlight slid through the hotel room window and struck my face. I blinked, groaned, then squeezed my eyes shut as pain speared my skull, rippled down my back, and throbbed between my thighs. What on earth happened to me? It felt as though I had fought a war in my sleep.Something warm curled around my waist. I opened my eyes and found myself nose‑to‑chest with a man— solid, sculpted, his bare torso pressed against me. I lifted my gaze to his face. Familiar, yet I could not place him at first.Memory flared. Gerald in bed with Mirabelle. My scream. A hotel attendant who shielded me, called himself my husband, and offered loyalty when my world collapsed. Fern.I inhaled sharply. I had dragged that innocent staff member into my chaos, into a bar, into my bed. Heat flooded my cheeks. Please, make love to me.The words I had begged last night echoed in my mind. Mortifying.“I am sorry,” I whispered. The room was elegant, hushed. Fern slept soundly, a

Liliana’s Point of ViewI woke slowly, blinking up at a white ceiling while the antiseptic scent of the company clinic pricked my nose. My right arm felt like stone. I turned my head and saw Jack asleep beside the bed, using my numb hand as a pillow.“J‑Jack,” I rasped. My throat was desert‑dry. He jerked upright, eyes wide. “You’re awake.”“My arm. I can’t move it.”He stared, horrified. “I’ll call the nurse.”“It’s numb because you used it as a cushion,” I muttered.Color washed up his cheeks. “I am so sorry.”He reached for my hand. I stopped him with a wince. “Let the blood come back first.”He nodded, contrite. “Water. You need water.” He filled a paper cup and helped me drink. Cool liquid soothed the rawness in my throat, and the ache in my body had faded to a dull throb. I glanced at the IV taped to my wrist.“Why am I on a drip?”“You had a high fever,” Jack said. “Looked like you’d been… well, assaulted. You passed out around lunch.”“What time is it now?”“Seven in the eveni

Third‑Person Point of ViewCaleb had spent the previous day combing every department, photograph of the CEO’s wife in hand, yet still had not located her. He stared at the picture now, bewildered. Women of every pedigree chased Asher Windermere, but the bride he had chosen was a shy-looking “nerd.” Caleb scratched his head; the marriage had happened so suddenly he, the chief aide, had learned of it only afterward.A sleek car pulled to the curb. Asher stepped out and Caleb hurried over with the other executives.“Good morning, Sir—”“Did you find her?”Caleb swallowed. “She was off yesterday, Sir. Her co‑workers said she took an engagement‑leave day.”Asher’s eyes narrowed. “Take me to her department.”Caleb hesitated. Showing up unannounced could expose the young woman to the wolves of gossip. He leaned closer. “Sir, you told me we would not announce your marriage yet.”“Asher”s voice dropped to silk. “Is it wrong to introduce my wife?”“N‑no, Sir. Just… privacy, security—”He broke

Liliana’s Point of ViewWe were in the same car, sitting in the back seat together since he had a driver.I reached for my reading glasses and adjusted my neatly tied-up hair.“Wife, don’t tie your hair. Is it hot in your department? Do you want me to install another air conditioner there?” he asked casually.“It’s already cold in there. No need,” I replied.“If it’s cold, then let your hair down,” he insisted.“I don’t want to. I’m used to wearing it like this,” I said firmly. He frowned and suddenly leaned closer. I was taken by surprise when he bit my neck. My eyes widened and I tried to push him away, but he didn’t stop. In the end, he kissed the spot he bit, sending chills down my spine. He finally pulled away, smiling as he looked at the mark he left. I instinctively placed my hand on the area he bit.“What do you think you’re doing?” I asked, hitting him lightly on the head. He winced in pain.I rummaged through my bag, grabbed my mirror, and checked my neck. My eyes widened in

Liliana’s Point of ViewThe blaring sound of my phone alarm woke me up. Ugh. I reached out sleepily, grabbed the phone from the table, and turned it off. But then… I felt something soft, like hair, resting against me. And warm breaths… on my chest? My eyes blinked open—and I froze. Asher. He was hugging me so tightly, his arms wrapped around my body, and—oh my God—his face was right on my chest. Like it was his favorite pillow or something. Even though I had a shirt on, I wasn’t wearing a bra, so it still felt… way too much.“Aahhh!”I shoved him out of reflex. He fell off the bed with a loud thud, and I clutched my chest like it would calm the pounding in my heart.“Ow… what’s wrong, Wife?”He looked up at me, clearly dazed from the fall.“Oh no! I’m sorry! But—ugh—this is all your fault!”He scratched his head, confused, and slowly sat up while holding his lower back.“Did it hurt?”Yeah, right. Like you didn’t almost give me a heart attack.“My waist hurts, but it’s okay. I guess I

Liliana’s Point of View*It was getting late, and we had already finished our dinner. I had just wrapped myself in a towel after getting out of the shower and made my way to the dressing room. Earlier, Asher had mentioned that he had some clothes in his drawer for me.I assumed I would borrow something for the time being, even though I had no idea whose clothes he was referring to. To be honest, I was relieved that we didn't go shopping earlier because I was afraid he would buy me more stuff. I was astounded by what I saw when I opened the drawer and froze. Several exquisitely arranged dresses that appeared brand new and pricey were inside.“Oh my God…”I stood there in disbelief.“So these are the few dresses he mentioned?”As I reached in, the scent of fresh fabric hit me. The clothes still had their tags on. It was unbelievable to me. "Asher!" I yelled, my voice resonating throughout the space. He opened the door after I heard his footsteps coming closer. He glanced at the

Liliana’s Point of ViewWe were still at the mall, and right now, we were facing Jessica and her group of friends.“Who are you?” one of them asked, clearly offended.“I’m sorry, but I’m not really in the mood to introduce myself today. So if you’re planning to flirt with a man right now, make sure it’s not my husband. Okay? Otherwise, I won’t just push you—I might just knock you out cold and leave you sleeping on the cold tiles.”They were clearly stunned by what I said. Jessica had always been one of my biggest rivals. She was my cousin on my father’s side and had always tried to steal the spotlight. Grandpa and Grandma had two children, but Grandpa had an affair and had a child outside of his marriage—Jessica’s mother, who turned out just like her, always seeking attention.Grandma accepted them because she had no choice, but she still kept her distance. I remained her one and only baby, the one she truly cared for. Even Grandpa, despite everything, still treated me that way. His m

Liliana’s Point of ViewAs we walked through the grocery store, Asher told me to grab anything we could stock in the fridge—ingredients for meals we would cook and eat together. Since it was all for us, I didn’t hesitate to start picking out what we needed.“Do you think everything I’m getting will fit in the fridge?” I asked as I scanned the growing pile in the cart.“I’ll buy a bigger fridge,” he replied without missing a beat.My eyes widened in shock. “You’re joking, right?”“Nope. There’s no room for jokes when it comes to things we need as husband and wife.”I froze in place.“Huh? Hey, come on. Relax. I think all this will fit in your condo fridge, so don’t worry too much.”“This isn’t all we’re buying, my Sweetheart. We’ve still got a long list ahead.”I stared at him, stunned. He was serious. “Let’s go,” he said, taking my hand as he pushed the cart forward. He stopped by the freezer section and started filling our cart with frozen goods.“That’s a lot,” I commented.“That’s
