ALEXANDER

The glass of wine swirls in my hand, red like blood, but it doesn’t burn my throat the way it should. Hudson sits beside me, nursing his own drink, and from the corner of my eye, I can see him pretending to be more drunk than he is.

That’s the trick… blend in. Laugh when they laugh. Drink when they drink. Pretend to enjoy the sickness of these monsters until we get what we came for.

“Careful,” Hudson mutters slowly, his lips barely moving, “you’re glaring too much.”

I force myself to relax my face and lean back against the chair, tilting the glass lazily in my hand.

The vampires around us are loud, their voices filling the air with laughter and cruel jokes. Father Vitale hasn’t returned yet, but his lords keep the night alive, drinking like there’s no tomorrow.

Then, as if on cue, it happens.

Two vampires at the far table shove each other, their voices rising until the sound cuts through the noise. Chairs scrape, glasses spill, and the whole tent falls into silence.

  • My Dear Master, We're Mates! (M×M)   Chapter 121- War he shall have

ISABELLAThe Crimson Masquerade is finally over.I wake with a heavy head, the echoes of last night still fresh in my mind. The sight of Matteo’s face when he drained the maid dry keeps replaying like a sick memory I can’t erase. His lips red, his eyes glowing, the way he laughed when she fell limp in his arms. He kept saying how good it felt, how different it was to drink from living flesh instead of a bag.It makes my stomach turn. But that isn’t even the worst part. This morning, the entire Kingdom is in chaos. Servants whisper down the hallways, guards stomp past like the world is ending, and the scent of tension hangs thick in the air. Word spreads faster than fire:The Alpha and his Beta were found unconscious in the woods. And worse, there’s a dead vampire in their car trunk.I hear it from three different mouths before I believe it. At first, I believe it’s some twisted rumor. But the details are the same every time. The corpse is one of Father’s trusted guards. And if there

  • My Dear Master, We're Mates! (M×M)   Chapter 119 – The Prey

ALEXANDERI can’t move.I’m still in the same spot as I was when Dario shouted let the game begin. My boots feel like they’re cemented into the dirt. The forest is alive with chaos, the crack of branches as the vampires rush out, darting through the forest, the delighted laughter of those monsters. But under all of that noise, I hear her.The girl. Her shrilled screams tear through the air. I can hear her heartbeat hammering so loud in my ears like it's about to explode from her chest. And then it hits me, she can’t even see as much as the rest of the creatures surrounding her can and her fear would blind her more. They’ve thrown a frail human in their midst like a rabbit amongst wolves. My stomach turns.“This is insane,” I mutter. “This isn’t a game… it’s a slaughter.”Hudson shifts beside me, arms folded, looking about as concerned as I am. “Good,” he says flatly and I turn to him in shock.“What do you mean by—”He fully turns to me and speaks “This is the time for us to get ou

  • My Dear Master, We're Mates! (M×M)   Chapter 118- Game night

ISABELLAIts nighttime already and I can see lights from outside as some people roam the gardens. Their voice fills the air, probably wondering the kinds of game father would choose.I scoff in my room, brushing my hair and throwing it into a ponytail.Father isn't going to choose some measly game for us to play. I just know it. I mean, when you think of game night, you think of merriment, joy, board games, kareoke, but this is Father we're talking about. He's a psychopath. I know him all too well. He'll likely choose something that has to do with hunting so I grab my black boots and put them on, alongside my black, tight, leather jumpsuit that snugs my body in all the right places. I walk over to the desk in my room ad grab my gun, pushing it in the holster by my him and cross my bow over my chest. I tighten the ponytail I threw my hair in earlier and put on some lip gloss. I step out of my room to see the guests leaving the building so I follow suit. “Where to Miss Vitale?” the

ISABELLAIt's the last day of the Crimson Masquerade.Father announced that it'll be game night today. The afternoon light shines through the windows as I lean against the railing, looking down at the guest drunkily come out of their rooms and stagger to the dining hall. I exhale slowly, raising my cup of coffee to my lips and taking a slow sip. Lorenzo’s words replay in my head from last night, loud and sharp and if he said them this morning. “I love her, Isabella! And I’ll find a way about Father. I'll convince him and he'll let me. You’ll see.”Is he mad? Father would never agree and he knows that deep down so why does he think Father would allow that?I grimace. My dear brother. My foolish, hopeless brother.Of all people, he chose a maid. Not even one of our kind, not even a vampire. But a fragile, breakable, human maid. Father would drain her in one goal to teach him a lesson. I told him the truth, and I wasn’t cruel about it either. His relationship is doomed. A lost cause.

  • My Dear Master, We're Mates! (M×M)   Chapter 116 – The Bomb

ETHANI lie flat on my bed, staring at the ceiling, counting sheep. It's the only thing keeping my thoughts from cycling back to what has been happening lately. My arm dangles off the side of the bed, knuckles brushing the floor, and for the thousandth time today, I ask myself if I’m losing my mind. It’s been happening for days now. The random bursts of strength that don’t make sense. The strange energy is buzzing under my skin. And worst of all… the voice I hear in my head that is extremely far from mine. I start to think I'm going mad. The voice speaks in muffled tones again and I almost pull my hair out in frustration. I squeeze my eyes shut, groaning quietly. Maybe it’s the training. Maybe I’ve been pushing too hard so my body is cracking from the intense workout. But then I remember how it seemed like the wall in the kitchen was caving in and how, when on the training field, I could hear a warrior whispering across the field when he was too far to hear. I normally shouldn't b
