Se connecterAlexander’s POV
When I heard about Daniela moving to live with her aunt after her parents’ death. I felt pity that her mother had to be dragged into it, but then there was always this satisfaction that hung around my feelings when I thought about how she was finally in my shoes, because I thought her living with her aunt wasn’t any different from my life in the orphanage. But of course, I was very wrong.
Daniela’s mother and Bertha must have been
Daniela’s POVFirst, it had been the sweater. Now Kathy had challenged me to bring this tub of ice cream to the hotel, knowing fully well Alexander would be there when I get in. I already knew what his reaction would be, but he also did not react much to the sweater. So, you could call this pushing his buttons to see which ones would give. The door clicked open after I scanned my card, and my pulse increased its pace the moment I got inside. This was so unnerving. I hadn’t even seen him, but just the thought of me being alone with him in one space got my body reacting. Thinking he would be in the room, I turned around the corner swiftly to put my ice cream in the fridge I had seen in the living room.Big mistake.I instantly bumped into some hard, tall and immovable. Another wall couldn’t have developed out of nowhere. My mouth opened slightly in shock when I took in the glory Alexander Jackson finally out of a suit. He was in a white compression
Daniela’s POVI did not check Justin’s message again. I didn’t even reply, even though he could see I had read it. But I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Because it was a big deal. He knew I wasn’t safe and he was willing to help.I shook my head to will those thoughts away. That was exactly why I didn’t want to look at the text. I couldn’t keep entertaining those thoughts. And it hadn’t been really difficult not to think about it, because I have been occupied. I thought I would have to resort to watching movies in the confines of the suite all the times that I was alone, but yesterday after the guys left and Kathy eventually joined them, I got a knock on the door and a man in hotel uniform told me that my husband had requested a hotel tour for me.And that’s how my day was spent, exploring the prominent levels of this high-rise building. The last place I was shown was a mall. Yeah, an entire mall in the hotel. I didn’t buy anything apart from a few cut
Daniela’s POVI leaned back on the door and checked my messages. Like I had suspected, I had a lot from aunt Bertha.Safe journey.Send loads of pictures.I understand Cole now. You’re still pretty young to have babies. Here’s a list of contraceptives I got him to recommend.Don’t let anything stop the two of you from having a very good time. You can tell me about it if you want.Ew. Ew. Ew.I still wanted to scream, but Alexander would definitely still hear me. “Oh my God aunt!” I whispered instead. I was going to scold this woman when I got back.I scrolled through my notifications and saw more messages. From Cole.I see your location. Fancy fancy.Bertha just asked me about contraceptives!!!Don’t tell me you talk to her about your sex life.Answer me because I’m traumatised! The cringe wore off when I saw I had received a
Daniela’s POVI wasn’t awake yet, but I could hear the pitter patter of rain on the windows. I flipped over on the bed to stretch my legs, but then I was hit with a sudden brightness. I squinted tightly and turned my head away quickly. Was the sun literally in the room with me? Wasn’t it raining? My eyes fluttered open slowly as I yawned, taking in the scene before me. The curtains had been drawn, but not like how I met them yesterday. I turned to the bed beside me. He wasn’t there, but he had definitely slept in it. I became conscious of the heaviness on my legs and looked down at myself. I remember clearly how I fell asleep last night and this wasn’t it. I looked at his bed again and wondered. When did he get back? And had he already left? The pitter patter I was hearing suddenly stopped. My eyes followed where I figured the sound was to a small hallway at corner of the room. Was that the bathroom? Was that where Alexander was?I didn’t have to wonder for long, because ten seconds la
Daniela's POVWhen we touched down it was still dark outside, and I was thankful for that because I needed sleep! Not that I wouldn’t have slept if the situation were different. It hadn’t been a very long flight but it was tiring enough because I couldn’t allow myself to fall asleep. I couldn’t risk my mouth opening with drool, while Alexander sat across from me.Kathy, her boyfriend and I were in one car, heading to the hotel we’d be staying at for the next two weeks. Alexander was in the other car off to a different location because according to Jason, he already had business to attend to. That could explain why he was in a suit.Kathy was already asleep on Jason’s shoulder as he dealt with his own stuff on his phone. I was in front with Mike, but we weren’t talking much. He hadn’t really looked my direction since we left the airport, but that was probably because we had company and he had to maintain formality. I was comfortable with my own thoughts, so the silence was fine.At leas
Daniela's POV“It’s not like that,” I whined. “He’ll be working most of the time.”“No newly wedded man would spend majority of a two-week trip working, trust me,” Cole quipped.I dug this pit for myself. I was using all my mental strength to defend my lie about the honeymoon I had made my aunt believe this business trip was. And now she had gone and spread the news to the whole shop. Right now, I was on a conference call with her, Cole, and Cole’s mom, Aunty Daisy. I had only called Bertha, since the flight was tonight, and she went to add the others before I could even get a word out.I shut the cupboard after taking the potato crisps and made my way upstairs. “Because you’re married?”He chuckled. “No, because its common sense.”“This banter isn’t necessary,” Aunty Daisy chipped in. “What matters is that our grandbabies wil
Alexander’s POVI swirled my drink in my glass yet again, focusing on the clinking of the ice in it. I was glad the deal went through, but I stayed for the for the after party for appearances sake. That didn’t mean I had to pretend to be enjoying it the whole time. Eng
Alexander’s POVThree knocks on the door. I knew it was Daniela because no one else in this household knocked more than twice, and also because I had just sent for her. And now for some reason, I felt nervous.Jason and Kathy had already left, but his chastisement hadn’t man
Alexander's POVWomen. That word was a very troublesome topic, familiar, but mystifying in the same respect. I hadn’t been really close to my mother when she was alive, and I have never been charitable enough to get to know the women I had been with on a more personal level, not even Delphin
Daniela's POVI did call him. Sue me. But he didn’t answer. After that I left my phone in my room and sequestered myself in the family room, lest I did something as stupid as double calling my cheating ex. Correction: cheating and lying ex. Because he had to be lyin
