Erica's POV
It's been two days since I cleaned Aunt Rosett's office. I didn't steal the documents of Madeline and Alisson West because they would suspect that I stole it, so I just use my phone and take pictures of it.
"Erica, I got a news from Tyler!" I was lying in bed and resting when Silver came to my room, rushing. "About Alisson!"
I immediately sit and looked at her. "What about her? Did Tyler found out who is she?" I asked. Tyler is a Private Investigator that's why it's easier for him to look for someone's profile and life background.
"According to Tyler, Alisson West was a former employee at Enril's construction---your grandpa's--- but then she got into an accident and police claimed that she died."
I suddenly feel upset. "So she's dead already? Argh! I thought she was the one who can help me."
"I'm not done yet," she smirked that made me frowned at her. "Tyler couldn't talk to Sargent Samuel--- who was in charge in that case--- bec
Erica's POVWhen Friday came, me and Zoe secretly meet at the parking lot on the company's building. Zoe insisted to Aunt's secretary to give me a day off on Friday so that I would be able to come with her. Before me and Zoe even met, I opened the GPS of my phone because Tyler told me so. He said he'll track our way and the place where we're going, to make sure that I would be safe."What's your complete name?" Zoe asked while driving the car."It's Aila Miller." I keep my eyes on the road while answering her."Miller. Are you from here?" she asked again."No. I came from a far away province," I lied. I'm such a good actress. Or maybe a good liar."Do you have your parents?" Why do I feel like she's a reporter whose so interested in me?"They died when I was five. There was a fire on our house and I was the only one who survived," I lied again. But the pain in my voice is real. I remembered how my parents we're kil
Erica's POV"How do you know me?" she asked.I don't know what to feel. Thankful that I found her, worried because of what Zoe did to her, or pity her situation. I didn't expect that I would find her this way. And in this situation of hers. I almost can't recognize her because she really looks very different and miserable."What happened to you?" I asked completely ignoring her question. I was about to take a step towards her when she forbided me not to."Don't come near me. Are you going to hurt me? Y-your just like that Zoe and the whole Roberts family." She sounded so scared that her tears began to flow from her eyes down to her cheeks.I might be one of the Roberts, but I'm not as cruel as them."No. No. I'm not going to hurt you," I tried to calm her down. She must've gone through a lot with Zoe and my family. Her eyes tells me that she's frightened and angry."I said, how do you know me?" she asked as her tears continue to flow
Erica's POV My monday morning started as a normal life for Aila Miller, I went to the company and do my duties as a janitress. But Erica's mission is different. Alisson mentioned about a certain hard drive which is she thinks is located at Uncle Gil's office. The hard drive contains files and CCTV videos that my aunt and uncle had hidden from people. Why did they hid it? Because it's the evidence! And that is exactly what Erica's mission is--- to find that hard drive. And to start, I made an alibi just to make it to thirty-six floor. And thankfully, Anne agreed and let me clean the thirty-six floor together with her and Jane. "Let's split up again and meet later. Clean well, girls," Anne said as the three of us split ways. Of course, I manage to convince them that I would be the one to clean Uncle Gil's office. I'm a good liar and actress, and that's all that it takes for me to get what I wanted. I was in front of Uncle's office, and w
Erica's POV "I said stop the act, Erica Roberts. I know it's you behind that Aila Miller disguise." I gulped. "How do you know?" I asked, spilling out the truth. He knows it and I can't do anything about it. But maybe if I could find a loss memory potion and gave it to him, he'll forget everything--- but too bad I'm not a witch. He smirked and lean back to his car seat. He stared at me that makes things awkward between the two of us, I immediately look away from him and focused my eyes on the view in front of us. "I said, how do you know?" I asked, facing my head straight in front and not even looking a glance at him. "I just know," he said in a matter-of-fact tone. I turned my head to him, I saw him smirking at me. What on earth is that answer? Can this man be more specific?! "The h*ck answer me!" I scold him. "You don't dare curse a man like me," he threatened. It was my turn to smirk. "Are you
Klyde's POVI was busy continuing work in my office, at my house, when Tiger interrupted. "Master, a phonecall," Tiger said as he held his hand infront of me, holding a phone. I stopped my fingers from typing on my laptop and accepted the phone from Tiger's hands."This is Klyde speaking," I answered as I bring the phone closer to my ears."[How was it?]""It's all settled. You don't need to worry. We are officially partners," I responded as I looked down to a folder at my office table, it's Erica Roberts a.k.a. Aila Miller's profile and personal background. We're finally partners."[I knew you'd do it. Take a good care of her]""I will. And take care of yourself too. You need more rest. Don't worry about her--- especially because I'm here, everything will be just fine," I assured."[Thank you, Klyde.]""Take care." Then I hang up, putting the phone on the table.I looked up to Tiger and asked, "What were yo
Erica's POV "What was inside the building?" he asked. My heart began to stomp harder and harder as every seconds pass, but still manage to hide the essence of feeling nervous which I can feel throughout my body. How does he know everything? Did he hired someone to look after me secretly? Should I tell him that Alisson and little Alice were the ones inside that building? Or maybe I shouldn't tell him? I mean I could still barely say that he is really trying to help me, I haven't tested his loyalty yet, and who am I to do it? With that boastful personality, I doubt he's going to agree. "Nothing," I answered after a few seconds of silence. I tried my very best to act normal or else he would be suspicious. "Nothing?" he asked, arching his left eyebrow. "Yeah," I answered, nodding my head. "You don't believe me? Go find out for yourself. Besides, Zoe brought me there to clean. You know, I'm a janitress and my job is to clean everyth
Klyde's POV "She experienced Vasovagal Syncope or also called Neurocardiogenic Syncope, it occurs when someone fainted because the body overreacts to certain triggers, such as the sight of blood or extreme emotional distress," said Doctor Margareth Watson a Cardiac Electrophysiologist, and an old friend of mine. Bringing her to the hospital is a waste of time, when she could be treated at my house with the help of Doctor Watson. "In her case, extreme emotional distress is the reason why she fainted, since there is no blood involved earlier. She must have remembered something that triggers her emotion. When a person is already in emotional distress, and a memory comes up and triggers the person, it is most likely for that person to faint because of trauma," she added. "Did something happen that probably reminds her of something horrible that awakens her trauma?" she asked. I laid my back on the couch, here in the l
Erica's POV "Done!" I screamed out of joy, raising my left hand in the air while holding a hair pin that I used to open the padlock. Klyde, who's sitting at a couch near me, clapped his hands elegantly. "Not bad. You're already a master at lock-picking," he complimented. "I wouldn't be surprised if you used your knowledge in lock-picking to enter my room and seduce me." Or maybe he's not complimenting me. I gave him a bored-face look. "Can you stop with your nonsense?" I said, rolling my eyeballs against him. But the scumbag, just laughed at me. After what happened earlier, I did not go back to the company but instead, me and Klyde, discuss some matter. And the first thing that we need to do is to find the hard drive that Alisson was talking about. I haven't told him about Alisson and Alice yet, it's not the right time. Since, there is a locked room inside Uncle Gil's office, which I think there is something fishy insid
