LOGINChapter Two
Camilla ~•~ “What’s this?” I asked, feigning ignorance. “Open it.” He said. I opened the file he handed to me and brought the documents out. They were divorce papers. I flipped through them and let out a laugh but there was no humor in it. He turned around to leave and then said, “Sign those before I get back.” I laughed again. “I’m not signing these.” He turned back to me. “What do you mean you’re not signing it?” I threw the papers at his face. “I’m not signing it.” “Camilla, don’t be difficult. Sign the papers so we can go our separate ways. I’m tired of this.” He picked the papers up, arranged them, and handed them back to me. “Are you deaf? I’m not signing it. You’re going to divorce me and go be with Tori?” “This is not about Tori. It’s about us and the fact that we’ve been in a loveless marriage for three years.” “I love you Raffael. I’ve always loved you. Why won’t you love me back?” “Love you back?” He scoffed. “You and your grandfather forced me into this marriage.” He screamed angrily. “You had a choice Raffael. If you didn’t want it you would have refused.” “Fuck you, Camilla.” He said and went out of the room. I followed after him. “Where the fuck do you think you’re going?” “Away from you and all of this.” He said walking out the door. “Make sure you sign before I get back except you prefer it the hard way.” I followed behind him and watched him get in his car and drive out of the compound. I took a deep breath and went back into the house. I picked up my phone and called Skye “I’m coming over.” “Ok. I’ll be waiting.” I got to her house in less than twenty minutes. I parked outside and made my way to the door. When she opened the door she welcomed me with a big hug. “How are you?” She asked, still in the embrace. “I’m good.” “What happened? What’s going on?” She asked again as we broke the hug. “Come, sit.” We went to the couch and sat down. “Raffael gave me divorce papers,” I said, sighing. “What?” She exclaimed, genuinely shocked. “He gave you divorce papers? Why?” “He said he doesn’t want to continue in a loveless marriage.” “Oh my God.” She pulled me in for another hug. “Did you sign it?” “No. I told him I wouldn’t.” “And what did he have to say about that?” “He told me to sign them before he got back or we would have to do it the hard way.” Tears started rolling down my cheeks and I didn’t even know when. “He says he doesn’t love me anymore. What am I going to do Skye?” “Cammy, don’t cry. We’ll get through this.” She said, stroking my hair. “Is it about Tori?” “He says it is not but I don’t believe him. How can he randomly give me divorce papers the day after our anniversary when he was out with his ex-girlfriend? I’m not a kid!” “You guys need to talk about this maturely. The media is already going crazy. The headlines are outrageous. Where is he?” I doubted he still cared about what the media thought. “I don’t know, he stormed out of the house after we fought.” I sniffed trying to hold back my tears. “You guys are going to fix this okay?” She said, reassuring me. “It’s not the end.” “Can we go somewhere? I need to clear my head and it’s suffocating inside.” “Where do you want to go?” “I don’t know.” I shrugged. “Anywhere’s fine as long as it’s away from everything.” We got out of the house and Skye was driving. I didn’t know where she was taking me but I was grateful to be going out. We drove for a long time before we finally stopped outside an amusement park. I looked at her and laughed. “An amusement park? Really?” “What? It’s the best place for a distraction.” She says unbuckling her seat belt. “And you used to love coming here all the time. Come on, let's go.” We got out of the car and went to get our tickets. We got inside and I instantly felt like a child again. We spent almost the whole day there, going from ride to ride. It felt peaceful. After a long day, we were both tired and decided to leave. “Thank you,” I said to Skye when we got in the car. “Sincerely, I don’t know what I would do without you.” “It’s no big deal. That’s what friends are for.” She was about to speak again when she was interrupted by my phone ringing. I checked the caller and saw that it was my assistant. “Hello?” “I’ve been trying to reach you” “Why? Is there any problem?” “I’ll send it to you right now.” She hung up the phone and my phone pinged. She sent me a video. A video of my husband and his ex-girlfriend kissing. The clothes he was wearing were the clothes he was on when he left the house. I felt an unfamiliar ache in my chest and I placed my hand above it, hoping it would numb the pain. It did nothing. “What is it?” I showed her the video and she gasped. “Oh my God. I’m so sorry.” “You don’t have anything to be sorry about.” I shook my head as she handed me my phone. It wasn’t her fault. She had nothing to do with my cheating husband. “What are you going to do about it?” “Nothing.” “Nothing?” She exclaimed. “Cammy, I know you love him but you have to sign those papers. He’s embarrassed you enough already.” “I don’t know Skye. Let’s see about that.” He was hurting me but I still didn’t want to let him go. I knew it was pathetic but I couldn’t help how I felt about him. Looking away from Skye’s pitiful gaze, I called my assistant back. “Where did you get this from?” “It’s all over the news.” My heart broke. “Okay. I’ll speak to you later.” “Cammy…” Skye trailed off.” “Don’t. I don’t want to talk about it. Let’s go.” I buckled up and she started driving. I was going to deal with my failing marriage later. I was too exhausted to think about it.EPILOGUE TWO YEARS LATERCamilla’s POVI’d been really busy the past few weeks, juggling work and preparations for I and Raphael’s anniversary celebration. I didn’t even have time to breathe properly because I had to make sure everything was perfect. It was also the launch of a new product. Raphael was also finishing up the commission of the new city hall. The past two years have been unarguably the best years of our lives. From saying yes to each other forever to flourishing in all aspects of our lives. We were happier than we’ve ever been before. It was the morning of our anniversary celebration and Raphael was out. The house was full with workers. I, Skye and the kids decided to go and check the venue out to make sure everything was in order.“Mummy, can we stop for ice cream first?” Rory asked.“On our way back, baby.” I answered. We got to the venue and they immediately started running around. After checking everything out and making sure that everything was in order, we headed
Chapter One Hundred and Fifty SevenCamilla’s POVIt was finally time for our actual wedding ceremony. I was nervous to say the least. I was going to be walking down the aisle for the second time to meet the same person. What if I was doing the wrong thing again?“It’s going to be okay.” Skye assured. “Take a deep breath.”I did as she instructed. “It is going to be okay.” I looked at my reflection in the mirror.“Are you ready?” She asked.“Yes, yes I am. Let’s do this. Let’s get married.”“I’ll be out there waiting for you.” She kissed me on the cheek and left the room.My grandpa came in after. I could tell he was holding tears in. I went to give him a hug.“You look beautiful, my darling.” He said.“Thanks, Grandpa.”“Im really proud of you, you know.” He said. “Yiure one of the strongest people I know. I love you.” He said.“I love you too.”“Let’s do this.” He stretched his hand out. I took it and we walked out of the room. We stood behind the big doors waiting for them to be o
Chapter One Hundred and Fifty Six3 MONTHS LATERCamilla’s POVThe past few weeks were a little bit hectic. A mix of work, wedding planning and a lot of other things. The wedding was in four days and we could finally take a break. We didn’t want to have our wedding in New York. We both agreed on a destination wedding. There wasn’t going to be a crowd, it was only a few people invited. We were going to Monaco for both the civil and church wedding. We were to leave later that evening for our flight. Martha took over my packing, she wanted me to rest for a bit. I decided to take a walk around the compound for a few minutes. In about four days, I would no longer bear the surname Brown. I prayed that our marriage this time would be nothing like the last. We had both grown into better and new people over the years. I went back into the house and Martha was done packing. I went to get ready to leave for the airport. After I was done, they loaded all the suitcases into the car. Martha, Skye,
Chapter One Hundred and Fifty Five Camilla’s POVMy purse and phone were taken from me by Skye. I was still in shock and awe. I looked over to my grandpa. He had a very big smile on his face. He nodded to Raphael, hinting at me to walk to him. I went to where Raphael stood, inside a circle of rose petals. I wasn’t expecting this at all. Sure, we had talked about getting married again but I didn’t think it would happen this soon. I wasn’t complaining though. He held my hands. “Camilla.” He started. I didn’t want the tears to come out just yet. “I never thought we would find ourselves here again, but life has a way of going around things. You’ve been my biggest blessing and I'm super honoured and proud to call you mine.”“Raphael.” He really wanted to make me cry.“We still have a long way to go. The thought of spending forever with you makes me believe that life is worth living. I have so much to say but im going to save that for when you officially become my wife.” He reached behind
Chapter One Hundred and Fifty Four Camilla’s POV I’d spend time with Rory, Raphael and Jason during the day. It was their school's Christmas carol. I had to go into work in the evening to finish up some work and officially start my break. It was a much needed vacation which we had been planning for a while now. I worked until it was late at night and then I headed back home. I freshened up and then I had dinner. I was about to call Raphael but he already beat me to it. “Are you home?” He asked when I picked up the phone. “Yeah, I was just about to call you.” I said. I got into bed and we talked for a long time. It had become a daily ritual. We made it a habit to talk to each other at the end of the day. I didn’t know how it happened but I fell asleep on the call. When I woke up the next morning, I checked my phone and saw that Raphael had sent me a message the previous night. It was enough to make me smile and think that it would be a good day. I had a lot of things planned fo
Chapter One Hundred and Fifty ThreeRaphael’s POVTHREE MONTHS LATERA few weeks had passed since the kidnapping incident. It was safe to say that Jason and Rory had gotten over the incident. They still had occasional nightmares but it was nothing too serious. Camilla had resumed her work as CEO, her wrist was as good as new. I’d also asked her officially to be my girlfriend. I didn’t want to keep moving around without a label. We had received a call earlier that Isaiah had gotten into a fight in prison and died. The trial was a few days away from starting when that happened. I didn’t know how to feel about that news. He basically made my and my loved ones' lives a living hell but on the other hand, we shared part of the same blood. Our chapter with him was closed after that incident. They still investigated his death to rule out any type of foul play.Things were going good in our lives. Camilla and I were in a really good place and the kids were doing so much better. We were planni
