Chapter 4

The black car stopped in an abandoned industrial park.

Rusted-out factories and broken windows were everywhere. The air smelled of mold and decay.

"Out," Kyle commanded coldly.

I was dragged out of the car, stumbling.

Ahead was a derelict-looking building, but I could see a faint light coming from inside.

My heart sank.

I’d heard about them. The underground clinics of the wolf world.

Places that handled a pack's dirty work.

Stairs led down into a basement, lit by a single, dim bulb.

The smell of disinfectant hit me, mixed with the sickening scent of old blood.

A thin, middle-aged man with the amber eyes of a wolf met us.

"Kyle. More business?"

"Dr. Hayes," Kyle said, shoving me toward him. "The usual. Get rid of what's in her belly."

"No!" I fought against them.

"How far along?" the doctor asked, his professional gaze on my stomach.

"About six months," Kyle answered. "A bit tricky, but you can handle it."

Dr. Hayes frowned. "The risk is high at this stage…"

"I don't care about the risk," Kyle cut him off. "This isn't a pup. It's a mistake I made six months ago."

A mistake?

He called my baby a mistake?

"And," Kyle's voice dropped, becoming stone-cold, "while you're at it, make sure she can never carry another pup. No future trouble."

What?

Ice flooded my veins.

"Kyle, you're insane!"

"It's the best solution," he said flatly. "It ends the problem for good."

His men dragged me to a metal table.

The cold surface made me shiver.

"Let me go! You can't do this!"

Dr. Hayes prepared his instruments. A silver scalpel gleamed under the light.

"Don't be afraid. It will be over soon," he said calmly, as if this was just a routine procedure.

A nurse approached with a syringe.

"This is an anesthetic," she said. "It will make it easier."

"No!" I tried to pull against the straps. "You can't kill my baby!"

The needle pierced my arm.

A cold liquid flowed into my veins.

My vision blurred, and my limbs grew heavy.

"It works fast," Dr. Hayes told Kyle. "We can begin in a few minutes."

Kyle nodded, his face a cold mask.

"Remember, make sure she can't reproduce."

"Understood."

I tried to scream for help, but my voice was weak.

Fear washed over me like a tidal wave.

My pup… Ethan’s pup…

The future Alpha heir…

Was about to be murdered in this filthy basement.

Just as he raised the scalpel, the entire building shuddered violently. Dust and debris rained from the ceiling.

"What was that?" Kyle looked up, on alert.

BOOM!

The reinforced metal door was ripped from its hinges, sent flying across the room in a shower of sparks and twisted metal.

In the swirling dust, a pair of golden eyes blazed with pure fury. It was a silhouette I knew better than my own heartbeat.

Ethan.

A wave of pure, undiluted Alpha power crashed through the clinic—a tsunami of absolute rage.

Dr. Hayes’s scalpel clattered to the floor.

Kyle’s two men collapsed to their knees, shaking uncontrollably.

Even Kyle himself stumbled back.

Only a true Alpha could release a presence this crushing.

Ethan stalked toward me, each step shaking the very foundations of the building. His eyes were molten gold—the unmistakable sign of an Alpha King's fury.

Dr. Hayes tried to run, but his legs wouldn't move.

Kyle tried to speak, to explain, but he couldn't form a single word under the weight of the Alpha's power.

His voice was a low growl that promised death. "Who. Dared. To touch. My. Luna?"
