LOGIN“Dylan!”
She stormed toward the car from down the street. Her heels struck the pavement hard, her hand planted firmly on her hip while the other jabbed the air at him. The closer she came, the louder her voice grew.
“Dylan! Would you ever change, you shame less man.”
It was his ex-girlfriend Georgia, who claimed she had become his baby mama a few years ago.
She was infuriated when she saw a lady sitting inside Dylan's car. She sighted them from afar when she came to look for Dylan in his house.
“You want to add a new girl to the crew right Dylan? Ha ha ha!!” Georgia laughed out loud with bitterness in her tone.
“Is she better than I am?” she snapped aggressively. “I have a son for you Mr. Dylan. What more do you want? You're not even giving enough attention to me and your son and you are already with another woman, trying to get through her pants.”
Gia… please can I come back to meet you in a few minutes concerning this? Let me drop her off at …...” Dylan pleaded. He knew what Georgia was capable of doing and he did not want her to create a scene, especially not in front of Alicia. But Georgia did not allow him to finish, she quickly interrupted him.
“Lies Dylan, big fat lies. Tell me bloody liar that you are not going to f*ck this lady now in your house.” Georgia yelled.
Alicia scoffed. “What in the world is she talking about?”
Georgia rushed towards the other side of the car. The side where Alicia was sitting.
“Oh it's Alicia, ha ha ha! You foolish bitch! You don't what I'm talking about right. Are you really that dumb? Shameless whore!” she snarled.
Georgia was ready to fight Alicia if she made one more statement. Georgia was a really aggressive and a very temperamental woman, easily angered by anything.
Alicia knew Georgia right from their university days. She also knew that Georgia had always wanted to be in Dylan's arms even while he dated Kimberly, his first girlfriend.
Dylan wasn't ready to put Alicia in the situation of a fight with Georgia, he immediately wound up the car window and sped off.
“Bastards!” Georgia yelled as the speed of the car threw her off.
She wasn't going to be made a fool by the people she thought were now love birds. She picked up a big stone and threw it towards the car.
Unfortunately, it hit the back windscreen and it caused a very bad crack on it. But Dylan did not stop, he had to get to a safe place first.
“I will be back for you two. Bastards! That whore he is carrying would surely hear from me.” She said and spat to the ground.
“But no! First off, I’ll have to find out where this Alicia girl lives. I promise that I would deal with her mercilessly.” Georgia muttered to herself, she was breathing too hard in anger.
She stopped to find a cab.
Dylan had driven for about two minutes, he even passed his house trying to remove Alicia from the situation. He really didn't her to get involved with Georgia because of how troublesome and dangerous Georgia could be.
When he got close a nearby street, he parked by the roadside.
“I think we're safe from her troubles now, let me contact my friend.”
“Okay…” Alicia muttered, barely above a whisper.
The call ended briefly. His friend informed him that there wasn't any available property in the neighbourhood.
“Alicia why don't you put up with me tonight at my house. Tomorrow we could find you an apartment.”
“No thanks, Dylan, don't worry so much about me. I'll book myself a hotel room in any nearby hotel tonight.”
Dylan's phone rang again, he answered it. His friend's voice came through the other end.
“Hello Dylan, I just made a call right now. I think there's an empty apartment across the street from Criston club, the old tenant of the apartment relocated a day before yesterday. Are you planning to move in today?” He asked.
“Yes, it's for my friend. She would be moving into the apartment today.” Dylan replied.
“Okay then come towards the apartment opposite Criston club, I'll meet you there in two minutes.”
The call ended.
“Thank you so much Dylan.” Alicia said with her two hands together towards him. She heard everything clearly.
It's my pleasure Alicia.” Dylan said, tugging a smile.
Georgia followed in a cab right after Dylan to find where he was taking Alicia to. She made the taxi driver stop few metres away from the apartment in order not to be caught spying.
After the meeting with his friend, Dylan made payment for the house and helped Alicia settle in.
“Thank you once again Dylan, to what do I owe this kind gesture from you.” Alicia asked giving a soft smile.
“It's alright Aly, you were and are still more than a friend to me. Remember that you were my favorite coursemate in school back then.” He said returning the smile.
“I'm really do appreciate Mr. Dylan.... and sorry about your broken windscreen.”
“No problem Aly.”
He was set to go. He walked towards the door.
“Alicia take care of yourself, I'll be back tomorrow to check up on you. Lest I forget, I am so sorry for the embarrassment from Georgia earlier on.” He said.
Alicia paused. Then she turned to him.
“If I may ask you Dylan, why are you really treating these women like this? You get them pregnant and reject them at the end of the day. Please I mean no offense.” She inquired.
Dylan stepped back towards her. He needed to clarify himself.
“You are mistaking Alicia. Georgia and I have never been in any serious relationship. She came to me while I was still dating Kimberly 3 years ago and offered to be friends with benefits with me, Kim found out about it and broke up with me and at the time Kim was pregnant for me. I hurt Kim and I really do agree to that. But Georgia….. honestly I don't know what is going on between me and Georgia. She claimed she had a child for me after our one night stand, but I don't really trust that she is telling me the truth.”
“You should have conducted a DNA test on the child long before now if you were not sure she told the truth.” Alicia said.
Dylan rubbed his forehead with his hand.
“Well… we have conducted the tests already, but the results says he is my child. Infact my instincts keep fighting against that.”
“Hmmm…. I think you should just become more responsible towards your son. Who knows you might find out the truth some day. And then you should also make up your mind who you want to settle down with.”
“Ohhh…. I'm really certain that Kimberly has gotten over me long ago, she has a daughter for me, that's why she's still in contact with me, but Georgia has refused to get over me. She is not wife material for me, she's a slotful woman, aggressive, mannerless and……”
Alicia’s phone buzzed loudly on the table, cutting Dylan short. The name that flashed across the screen made his chest tighten.
“My love”
“My Love!” He thought jealously. He forced a smile but his jaw clenched as he looked away. Alicia quickly snatched up the phone and hesitated, her thumb hovering over the green button.
“Are you not going to answer?” Dylan asked, his voice low, almost strained.
Nathan’s POVI stepped out of Marie’s office with something I hadn’t felt in a while.Hope.It didn’t feel solid yet, more like something fragile I wasn’t sure I should trust, but it was there. The plan she suggested kept replaying in my head as I walked out. It made sense. It gave me a way to get close to Alicia again without forcing anything on her.Maybe… just maybe, what we had wasn’t completely gone.Outside, Mark was already waiting by the car. The moment he saw me, he opened the door.I got in without saying anything, still lost in my thoughts. The door shut behind me and a few seconds later, the engine came alive as he pulled out.For a while, neither of us spoke. I leaned back slightly, staring ahead, but my mind was somewhere else entirely. Then Mark finally broke the silence.“The private investigator has something from the search you instructed I should look into.”That pulled me back immediately.“What did he find?”Mark glanced at me through the mirror before focusing ba
Alicia let out a sudden laugh. “Ha ha ha ha ha…” But it wasn’t warm. It was hollow, mocking laughter. The sound faded just as quickly as it came, and her face changed immediately.“Nathan, the audacity for you to show up again in my office,” she said, her brows furrowing.Nathan stood there, watching her carefully. “Alicia… can we at least sit down and talk? Please.”“Talk?” she scoffed, tilting her head slightly. “With who? Me?”She gave a short, unbelieving laugh again.“Please…”“Leave now.” She directed her hand toward the door.“What?” Nathan blinked slightly.“I said leave now,” Alicia snapped, her voice rising. “Or I’ll call security on you. Who even let you into my office in the first place?”“Nathan stepped forward slightly. “Please Alic—”“I’m seeing someone else,” she cut in quickly, rolling her eyes as if the words meant nothing. “So you can’t have me back anymore.”Nathan gave a small, dry scoff. “Alicia… you know that’s not true. Please, let’s just talk this through.”Al
Vanessa studied her for a brief moment, as if weighing whether to continue, then she nodded. “Alright,” she said quietly. “But just know… this isn’t small.”The room grew still, then Vanessa took a breath. “I found out that Vin is a part of the Garfield family, Thompson and Sarian Garfield from El Vallejo. Although he is not actually a biological member, he was adopted into it, when his only surviving parent, Sir Romano Moretti, was assasinated in cold blood a very long time ago.”Alicia’s brows drew together slightly. “Thompson and Sarian Garfield are Andrea's parents.”“The Garfield family?” Emily repeated.Vanessa nodded. “Yes. And that family is connected to Adeline’s extended family. It’s all tied together. Also Sir Romano was a very close friend to Sir Thompson Garfield hence that's why he adopted Vin.”Alicia leaned back slowly, her mind already trying to connect the dots.“But that’s not even the main part,” Vanessa continued.Alicia’s fingers tightened slightly on her lap. “T
As he reached the table Alicia's expression instantly hardened. Every trace of surprise vanished, replaced by something sharper. Anger.“Nathan?”His name left her lips again like an accusation. Her chest rose and fell quickly as the realization settled in.“I can’t believe Miss Marie would set me up like this…” she muttered under her breath, her voice tight with frustration.Without waiting for him to say a word, Alicia grabbed her bag aggressively from the table. The chair scraped loudly against the floor as she pushed it back. Then she turned and stormed out of the restaurant, her steps fast and furious. She didn’t look back.Nathan stood there for a moment, completely caught off guard. Confusion flickered across his face before frustration quickly followed. He exhaled sharply and sank into the chair Alicia had just left behind.“What the hell…” he muttered under his breath. He rubbed his face slowly, dragging his palm down as if trying to process what had just happened. The restau
Alicia arrived at her workplace early that morning. The office was already awake, filled with the quiet rhythm of keyboards clicking and phones ringing softly in the background. She settled into her chair and dropped her bag onto the desk.As she reached inside to pull out her notebook, her fingers brushed against something stiff. She paused. The wedding invitation.Vin’s invitation card.Alicia slowly pulled it out and stared at it for a moment. The gold letters printed across the surface glimmered under the white office lights.Vin Romano MorettiandMelvinaHer brows slowly drew together.Something about it felt strange again. She leaned back in her chair and opened her laptop.“If Melvina is marrying Vin… then what exactly is her connection with Adeline?” she murmured quietly to herself. Her fingers began moving across the keyboard.A few seconds later, Adeline’s social profile appeared on the screen.Alicia leaned closer. The page was almost empty.Just a few pictures. One photo s
Nathan's POVI sat in the lawyer's office, the documents my ex-wife was entitled to sliding across the table like a silent threat. I barely glanced at them. "She hasn’t asked for anything," I said, my voice even. The lawyer adjusted his glasses, a hint of curiosity in his eyes. "That is not unusual.""It is for her," I replied, my fingers tapping a slow rhythm on the table. He leaned back, a small smile playing on his lips. "What exactly are you worried about, Mr Nathan?"I stopped tapping. "Alicia is not the kind of person who lets things go quietly. If she is ignoring the properties, then she is planning something else."The lawyer’s smile grew, a placating gesture. "You are overthinking this. Whatever she plans should not affect you in any way."Maybe. But the feeling in my gut refused to settle. I stood up, buttoned my jacket. "Send the documents to my office," I said."Of course."Outside, Mark was waiting by the car, opening the door as I approached. "Office?" he asked."Yes."T
Emily sat up at the edge of the bed, teardrops forming in her eyes as she stared at the empty space beside her. Vin was gone. He could not even wait till she woke up before leaving. Her phone lay beside her, silent, like it had nothing to say to her pain. For a moment, she remembered the first time
Nathan’s POVHer words froze the room.“I know something,” Celine said again, her voice steady though her eyes betrayed a weight she carried.Andrea’s sobs faltered. My mother turned sharply toward Celine, her expression hardening. “What are you talking about?” she asked quickly, almost defensively
Alicia watched them both, the tension in the room pressing down and she furrowed her brows before asking, "Is there a problem between the two of you that I don’t know about?"Emily’s eyes flickered for a moment before she looked away with a faint uneasy smile. "No, nothing really. Everything is fin
Nathan reached the office that morning, the weight of last night pressing hard against his chest. Every step felt heavier than the last. His secretary appeared quickly, holding a stack of files in her hands.“Good morning, Sir.”Nathan waved at her without lifting his eyes from the desk.“Sir, some
