Chapter 5

***

Sean kicked the door to his room.

"Come quickly Ruby!" Sean sent a mindlink to his sister.

"Where to?" Ruby replied to the mindlink.

"My room, right away!" Sean placed Ana on the bed. The man looked at Ana's bruised face and blue neck as anger burned within him again.

"Damn it!" Sean clenched his fists. The Rouge leader should not have been killed immediately but she should have been tortured first. Sean raised his hand to touch Ana's face.

"What happened?" Ruby came in while staring at a stranger on her sister's bed.

"Treat her." Sean pulled his hand back.

"Is she my suster-in-law?" Ruby asked enthusiastically.

Sean nodded. "Hurry up and treat her!"

"Alright, brother please come out first." Ruby checked Ana's body.

"Why can't I be here?" Sean gave Ruby a sharp look.

"Geez bro, I have to change her clothes. And you can rest assured that she will be fine." Ruby pushed Sean gently towards the exit.

"Alright, I can go out myself." Sean went out and the door closed. Ruby started to treat Ana.

After treating Ana the girl opened the door and found Sean still standing there. Ruby just shook her head.

"How was it?" Sean approached the bed where she lay.

"Right leg is sprained and her back is bruised but she's fine, should be conscious soon." Ruby looked at Ana as Sean did.

"Is she really your mate?" Ruby asked Sean.

"I didn't expect it either." Sean sighed.

"Why?" Ruby asked again.

"He's human. Why are my mate a human?" Sean sat on the bed.

"Don't you like her?" Ruby's question distracted Sean from Ana's face.

"I like her, I just didn't expect it."

"Even though she's human, she's still your mate and that's your destiny." Ana patted her brother's shoulder. "I'll go first, I have some business to attend to." Ruby excused herself.

After his sister's departure, Sean caressed the bruises on Ana's face. "It must have hurt a lot. I promise I won't let you get hurt again." Sean fixed Ana's blanket then left the room to see if the captured Rouge were well taken care of by Jason.

Ana opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was a spacious room similar to the castles she had watched. Ana circulated the scene not finding anyone in the room. Ana got up and took off the blanket and looked at her right leg, which was wrapped in a bandage.

"Who helped me?" Ana tried to remember what happened to her. Her last memory was of a man choking her. Ana shook her head not wanting to remember what happened earlier. The girl intended to lower her feet to the floor.

"Stay where you are. Don't move." Someone's voice from the door stopped Ana. The girl stared at the person who entered, a man with a tall, well-built body and a handsome face. Ana did not deny that the man was the handsomest person she had ever met.

"Are you awake? Something hurt?" Sean approached Ana.

"Who are you?" Ana gave him a wary look, despite his handsome face she had to be careful because looks can be deceiving.

Sean looked at the wary Ana. "I'm Sean, the owner of this place." Sean introduced himself.

"Are you the one who helped me?" Ana was still wary.

Sean nodded. "Right."

Ana lowered her guard. "Thank you."

"There is no need to thank me because it is my duty." Ana frowned not understanding.

"Is there anything  hurt?" Sean spoke again.

"I have to go home soon, the hotel staff will be wondering since I didn't come." Ana tried to stand up but her right foot hurt as it stepped on the floor. And her back was also in pain.

Sean helped Ana. "Stay here until your leg heals." Sean persuaded Ana.

Ana wanted to argue but it was rude because Sean was the one who had helped her. In the end Ana just nodded.

"You should eat soon, the Omegas will bring it." Sean ordered the Omegas to bring the food.

Ana stared at the food on the bed. It was too much, she wouldn't be able to finish it. But for the sake of courtesy Ana would try to finish as much as she could.

"What's your name?" Sean asked which made Ana choke. "Are you okay?" Sean looked panicked.

"I'm fine, I'm just surprised." Ana said after her coughing subsided.

"Surprised why?"

"I can't believe that I haven't introduced myself when you helped me." Ana smiled reluctantly. "My name is Ana." Ana extended her hand.

Without waiting Sean immediately shook Ana's hand. "Sean." He said.

"You already said it earlier." Ana's words made Sean blush. For the first time Sean who was an Alpha blushed.

Ana chuckled briefly then went back to continuing her dinner. Sean remained silent watching. How did Ana take the food, put it in her mouth, chew and then swallow it. How did Ana express herself when the food she was chewing was delicious. Sean watched Ana's every move.

"I'm done." Ana's words made Sean realize.

"Are you full?" Sean looked at the remaining food, Ana nodded back.

Sean called the Omegas to clean up the equipment and Ana's leftovers.

"Thank you again Sean."

"No problem. Now you'd better get some rest." Sean suggested.

Ana nodded then looked at Sean, who stared back with an uncomprehending gaze.

"You're not coming out?" Ana's words made him swear inwardly. She had forgotten that this room was now Ana's room.

"Good night." Sean immediately went out while shaking off his embarrassment. Alarick laughed, making Sean upset.

Five days later.

"When are you going to tell her?" Ruby stood beside Sean who was looking at Ana on the balcony.

"I'm scared." Sean said quietly. "I'm afraid she'll run away from here when she finds out who I really am. I'm afraid she won't be able to accept it."

"But you have to keep telling her. She always asks when she can come home and says her leg is healed. It can't stay away any longer."

"I'll figure out how to tell her." Sean sighed.

Ana stood on the balcony of the room she had been staying in for the past week. Sean not letting her out made Ana very bored. Besides, Ana wanted to go home because her grandmother and Darice would be very sad to know that she was missing or even considered dead because they had not found her for a week.

Ana should have listened to Darice instead of believing the book. She had to go home soon, she didn't want to make her grandmother sad.

Ana looked down at the balcony, the afternoon looked quiet and there was no one around. Ana stared uncertainly between the balcony and the bedroom door. She felt guilty if she had to leave without saying goodbye but she also missed her grandmother and Darice.

Ana sighed. There was no other choice. She would go home and then come back here to apologize for leaving without saying goodbye and say thank you again. Ana went to the bed to take the sheets to measure the height of the balcony. It's still not much. Ana went into the walk-in closet and quickly picked up the sheets and tied them to make them long.

After it was enough Ana tied the sheets to the balcony then the girl tested whether the ties were strong. When it was enough Ana threw the other end of the sheet down. She started to climb down with ease. One of Ana's hobbies was rock climbing so problems like this didn't scare her.

Ana made it down smoothly and without wasting any time Ana immediately ran towards the dense forest that had been a constant sight for the past week. Ana ran as hard as she could so that she could reach the main road before nightfall.

Ana continued to run with her eyes occasionally looking at the ghost orchid that grew a lot. Ana really wanted to admire it but there was no time because it was getting late. After a few hundred meters Ana decided to walk, she was tired. The girl rubbed her sweaty neck. The problem increased when Ana realized that she was lost. She was just running without knowing the direction. Ana stopped and looked around. She really didn't know where she was now.

"My fault for running off unprepared." Ana cursed herself. "What a fool."

Ana was even more speechless when she remembered that she could have been attacked again by an unknown man like that time. Ana wanted to return to Sean's castle but she did not know where to go.

A few hundred meters away from Ana's place, Ruby who wanted to take Ana out for a walk was surprised not to find the girl.

"Brother, hurry to your room!" Ruby did a mindlink to Sean.

Hearing Ruby's anxious and scared tone Sean immediately went to his room.

"What happened?" Sean said when he arrived at the room.

"Sister-in-law is missing." Ruby said carefully.

Sean looked around the room then walked to the balcony and found the sheet Ana had escaped with. Sean gripped the sheet tightly channeling his anger.

"You won't be able to run Ana. Never!" Sean said in an angry tone. "I will find you." After saying that Sean immediately chased after Ana. Leaving Ruby who looked worried, her brother when angry would be very scary. And hopefully Sean could refrain from hurting Ana.
