Chapter One

Amina's POV

So many voices yelled my name as I walked down the carpet. "Amina! Amina look over here!" reported shouted. I stopped and posed a few times looking at the crowd of flashing lights. Tonight was the premier of my most recent movie, Where His Heart Is. It was a romantic comedy where my character was stuck working with her competitor at work. They end up falling for each other and blah blah blah. I smiled and waved at the cameras snapping away before moving on. Then I reached an entertainment channel's correspondent and stopped for an interview.

"Hello Amina" Stacy Winkle, the face of the channel said. She and I were not on good terms but this was business. "Looking lovely Stacy" I said with a tight smile as her camera started counting down. "Good evening I'm Stacy Winkle here with the amazing Amina Jordan" She said turning to me with the microphone. "You look stunning Amina. Who are you wearing?" She asked with a bright smile. "Thank you so much for being here. I'm wearing a custom dress by the fabulous Alexander McQueen" I said motioning to the dress. "Well it looks gorgeous on you" She said.

"Are you excited for the premier tonight?" Stacy asked me. "Absolutely. It was a long nine months of making the movie. I'm super excited to see the finished product" I said. "Well we can't wait to see it" Stacy said before turning to the camera again. "Where His Heart Is will be in theaters on August eighth so be sure to check your local listing for the times" She said before the camera cut off. Once the camera man lowered his equipment Stacy's smile fell and she stalked away. I rolled my eyes and walked into the theater.

"Did she give you any grief?" John asked as I made my way over to him. "No thankfully" I told my manager. "She didn't even throw any shade on camera" I added. "Good" He said and ushered me into the room where the screening was being held. We made our way to our seats and my costars joined us as well. I smiled and waved to everyone just before the lights dimmed. The opening music swelled and the movie began. The production company did a great job with everything.

It was always weird watching myself on the screen but such was the life of an actress. I felt my phone buzz in my clutch and pulled it out. I saw a text notification 'You look beautiful in that gown' it read. I swallowed put my phone back in my purse. I leaned over to John "The stalker texted me again" I whispered to him. He looked at me in surprise. Sure I had my fair share of crazy fans but somehow one had gotten my phone number. I've changed my phone number probably five times already but I still keep getting texts from them.

"What did it say?" He asked me. I relaid the message and he sighed. I looked around to see if anyone stood out or if anyone was staring at me. "I wouldn't worry too much right now Amina. Someone probably took a photo of you on their phone and posted it online already" John explained trying to calm me down. I took a deep breath and nodded my head. "You're probably right" I said and forced myself to look back at the screen.

Once the movie was over we made our way to the after party. John stuck close to me of course at the party. He was always protective of me almost like a big brother. We partied the night away and I was having a lot of fun. Of course the champagne helped with that. It was finally time to go home and John escorted me to our limo. "You did a fantastic job as always Amina" John said as we started towards my house. "Thanks" I said with a drunken smile. "I spoke with the director and apparently he's got a new movie he wants to discuss" He continued on. "That's wonderful, Thomas is always nice to work with" I said.

The limo pulled past my rod iron gates and security. We reached my front door and I got out of the limo. "Don't forget make sure you hang up the dress! Alexander needs to back tomorrow" John reminded me. "Okay dad!" I said with a hiccup and smile. John laughed and shook his head "I'll call Thomas tomorrow afternoon to set up a meeting about the new movie" He said before rolling up his window. The limo drove off and I stumbled my way inside.

I somehow made it into my room and carefully took my dress off. I hung it up and slipped into my pajamas to wash the make up off my face. I sleepily walked to my bed and nestled into my pillow with a sigh of relief. My aching feet started to finally feel better now that they didn't have any pressure on them. I took a deep breath and smiled to myself as I drifted off into my dreams.

And the award for best actress goes to....Amina Jordan for her performance in Where His Heart Is! The announcer called out. Shocked I stood up and made my way up to the stage. I accepted the award from the host and he ran his fingers down my arm. I looked at him confused but ignored it and turned to face the audience. "Oh my goodness! I can't believe this" I said looking down at my award. "There are so many people I'd like to thank" I continued and started listing off a bunch of names. It still felt like someone was touching my arm and even at time my hair.

I was pulled out of my dream as I realized the things I was feeling were real. I softly opened my eyes to see someone standing next to my bed. The man was face level with me as he pet my hair and traced patterns on my arm. "My love, you're finally awake" He said with a love sick smile. I screamed and immediately punched him in the face. He staggered back clutching his nose as he yelled. I grabbed my phone and ran from my room. As I ran down the stairs I could hear the man following behind me scream "You bitch!"
