My Mate

Jason POV

I had been Alpha of my pack for a whole week and already they were doing better than under my father. My sister even found her mate when I took over. I didn’t have a beta at the time of the ceremony but Kyle had been an Alphas assistant and he was perfect for my sister. So I chose him as my Beta. I didn’t really have friends growing up just training companions. At least that’s what father called all of the wolves that played with us when little. Not that I blamed any of the wolves in our pack for not being my friend. Who would with my father being my father.

The man cared more about his title and strength than actually being a father. My mother was the kind, loving one of the two. She was my father’s chosen mate. He never did find his destined. Probably why the pack did so poorly under him. However as the time came for me to take over, the pack began to grow and be stronger. Father thought it was all due to his brilliance so that prompted him to stay Alpha for another 15 years. Arrogant son of a bitch. I scoffed just thinking about it.

Right now I’m on my way to Alpha Strong’s Annual Miners Appreciation Ball. Kyle suggested that I should go and invest. Given that he use to be part of the Mountain Sky pack and knew the worth of the shareholders with in the mine I thought it a very wise decision to listen to him.

I pulled up to the hotel, parked and went to the front desk to check in. The receptionist giggled and flirted with me as she booked me and gave me my cards. She was cute and all but I never slept with humans. Humans break and become obsessed to easily. Plus, I only ever wanted to be with my destined mate. Seeing how my father behaved with his chosen I decided to wait till the Moon Goddess blessed me to find mine. I didn't care what she was, witch, werewolf, vampire (yes there have been a few of those), even human. I just knew I wanted to be with her. As I started up to my room I smelt something wonderful and my stomach growled. I giggled must be hungry and the food they're making smells delicious. 

My room was a master suite. It had a kitchenete, full bath with jacuzzi and standing shower, king sized bed and a 60" flat screen TV with satellite. I plopped down on the bed, looked at my phone to see Kyle emailed me. I quickly responded and decided I had time for a quick nap. Set my alarm and passed out. 

Beep!Beep!Beep!

My alarm repeated until I turned it off. I stretched, stripped, and got in the shower. I quickly washed my hair and body, got out, patted dry, and shaved. then I went and put of my specially designed black tie tux. I combed back my brown hair with some gel, grabbed my wallet, room key, and phone put them in my pocket and headed down stairs. 

People were still filing in, I had already greeted Alpha Strong and his family and was standing by the bar sipping of a very good year of scotch. Man, when he threw these parties he went all out. I guess that's what happens when your one of the richest people in the world. I was headed to my seat when I stopped in my tracks. I smelt that delicious smell from earlier, Cucumbers and Melon, that's the best way to describe. I began to follow the smell and that's when I saw her. She auburn hair was curly and sparkly and half way up, she was wearing a very form fitting boob accenting off green dress with a slit that went all the way up her thigh  and when she stopped in her tracks and stopped in mine, she looked around, my eyes never leaving her because I knew the moment our eyes met I would hear that wonderful word. Soon I saw her beautiful deep green eyes.
