EVELYN’S POV

I didn’t know what love at first sight felt like, but I was absolutely sure that whatever Evander Cole was… it should be illegal. The moment he stepped onto the field, everyone forgot what they were doing.

Our official sports psychologist… was a walking distraction. A deadly one.

Students stared. Girls clutched their hearts like they needed CPR. Boys tried to imitate the way he walked, which was painful to watch. Even some of the married lecturers perched by the bleachers like hawks silently asking themselves if their vows were strong enough to resist that jawline.

I swear one of them fanned herself with exam papers.

He wasn’t like Josh,Josh was charming and friendly. Evander… was magnetic. He didn’t try to get attention. He commanded it.

And don’t get me started on the way he trained the volleyball boys for their upcoming match. Criminal. Absolutely criminal. A group of us were supposed to be stretching for cheer practice, but how could anyone focus when he was running

Every guest took their seats, filling the wide stadium with a buzz of anticipation. The energy was electric, and I could feel it thrumming through my chest as I adjusted my pom-poms nervously. The opposing team’s cheer girls were already giving us the death glare, as if they could reduce us to nothing with a single look. I caught Isla smirking at them, brave bae.The announcer’s mic screeched once. The crowd quieted instantly, like someone pressed pause.“Ladies and gentlemen,” his voice boomed, it sounded dramatic and way too excited for a school game but perfect for the chaos around us, “Welcome to the match of the season!”The crowd roared back, stomping their feet so hard the ground vibrated beneath mine. Isla nudged me with her elbow again, grinning like she lived for this. The announcer continued, “The home team—the Clearwater College!”The stadium exploded. People jumped to their feet. Pom-poms around me whipped upward like fireworks exploding in sync.“And their rivals, the I

~Two weeks later~The days passed faster than I expected, maybe it's because every morning I woke up with that stupid flutter in my stomach, the one I kept pretending was indigestion instead of… him. But today wasn’t about him. Today was competition day. Our school versus Iron Heights Academy, the school everyone whispered about like they were volleyball royalty. Tall guys, strong guys. Guys who probably ate protein shakes for breakfast and lifted cars for fun.Meanwhile, I was just trying not to sweat through my jersey before the game even started. The school grounds were already buzzing the moment I stepped out of the hallway. Parents, students, banners, whistles, that annoying announcer who loved hearing his own voice and it all blended into one loud, chaotic mess as everyone made their way toward the stadium.I hugged my bag to my chest and wove myself into the crowd, trying to squeeze through tiny gaps without elbowing anyone. If I got injured before the match even started, Maris

Evander’s POV They thought I told them to do it again because they weren’t perfect. Pathetic. Their performance was fine. Their posture, rhythm, and structure were acceptable. But I didn’t want perfection. I wanted another excuse to watch her. And I never needed much of an excuse. The boys on the field were boring. They were a bunch of weaklings trying to impress me every time they ran drills, like I hadn’t already assessed their limits the minute I walked into their pathetic excuse of a training ground. Even the wolves among them were unimpressive. Their instincts were dull; their senses were lazy. I’d seen omegas with sharper awareness. Evelyn didn’t know I’d recognized her scent the very first day. She had no idea how deeply I’d already memorized her heartbeat. Or that I could hear the stutter in its rhythms every single time our eyes met. She had no idea I was the Lycan who hurt her pathetic Fiancé. I had maintained a cold profile for weeks. I maintained silence, using min

EVELYN’S POVDays slipped by like pages in a book I didn’t realize I was reading, especially when he was around.I couldn’t explain it… but I felt like the human world had two suns, one in the sky… and one that walked around wearing a button-up shirt and pair of glasses like sin disguised as professionalism. He didn’t change much, but something around me did. Sometimes, when he passed by, his gaze would… linger? Like he’d taken note of my existence. And the craziest thing?I could not stop staring at him.I tried, really, I did! But my eyes had desires of their own. My brain would shout LOOK AWAY but my eyes would whisper, just one more second…The worst part? He always caught me.EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.Like he was built with a “Evelyn-is-staring” alert system. He’d turn, slowly… and catch me RIGHT before I turned away. I tried acting natural, but Sylvara said my “acting normal” face looked like someone solving math. One time in the hallway,he was standing by the staircase, talking to ano

Elder Grayfang’s breath hitched. For a moment, he reminded me of a wolf that had forgotten how to snarl—eyes darting, throat working, waiting for someone to tell him it was all just a nightmare. I tilted my head, studying him. Pathetic. The goddess noticed his trembling and instantly snapped her glare back to me.“Lord Dylen,” she seethed, her tone layered with divine authority, “you will not threaten my Elder in my presence.”I chuckled. Not a nervous laugh… a sincere one. As if she had just delivered the most comedic line in Lunar history.I turned, walking away from her, utterly calm. “Your presence,” I said lightly, “irritates me enough already. Don’t make it worse by telling me what I may or may not do.” I waved a lazy hand through the air. “You pollute the space without speaking. Speaking only makes it unbearable.”Her magic pulsed, the soldiers straightened, ready to act—but I never felt danger. Just annoyance. The goddess took two bold steps toward me, her gown fluttering like
