A burst of white light swept through the courtyard, flooding every corner with divine brilliance. The force of it knocked the breath from my lungs, and for a moment, all I could do was shield my eyes. When I finally dared to look up, the world had shifted, the heaviness that had pressed upon us moments ago was gone.

The Alphas, who moments before had been crushed beneath Dylen’s aura, gasped in unison, their bodies trembling as the divine energy cleansed the space. The Moon Goddess’s magic had washed over the courtyard. What a relief.

Every Alpha dropped to their knees. Heads bowed low. No one dared to look at her directly.

“Blessed be the Moon,” they whispered in unison.

I followed their lead, lowering my head as my heart raced. I could feel her power which felt smooth and infinite. It was as though the stars themselves had descended to stand upon our earth. Her presence was gentle, yet heavy enough to make Sylvara whimper softly inside me.

Footsteps echoed softly,the ground responde

The willow swayed gently above me, its silver-green tendrils brushing the grass like fingertips stroking a harp. I sat beneath it, before a wide mirror that reflected me and the soft veil of mist curling through the air. The stillness around me was almost scary. There was no wind, no sound, just the faint murmur of my own breathing. Then… a sensation.A faint warmth trailed through my hair, like fingers parting each strand.I froze. My reflection didn’t move, she just sat there, perfectly calm, while I felt it.A hand. It felt real and warm.Sliding slowly down my hair to my shoulder. For some reason,I couldn't look back.My heart stuttered. “Who’s there?” I whispered, my voice swallowed by the mist. No one answered. Yet through the mirror, I could feel his presence behind me,it was close enough that his breath grazed the shell of my ear. Then his voice came, low and deep.“Avelynne…”My pulse jumped. No one had called me that name, not even Sylvara.“You look so gorgeous…”The words w

Everything happened too fast for my mind to keep up.Raya, the one beside him changed too. The faint golden light that had touched her body pulsed once more, and her aura thickened like a storm cloud. The air warped around her, her eyes glowing faintly crimson. Every Alpha around the courtyard dropped their heads lower, trembling as her presence clawed at their strength. She wasn’t the calm and kind Raya I had seen earlier, this one looked lethal. A being carved for war.And still, none of them could raise their heads. The Alphas were on their knees. Their wolves whimpered. Even the strongest of them dared not breathe too loudly. I stayed frozen where I knelt, my heartbeat pounding so loud I could feel it in my throat. Then he moved. The man — no, the creature — began to walk toward me slowly, his steps were unhurried. Each step carried weight, each movement deliberate, echoing against the quiet like thunder. The courtyard floor cracked slightly beneath his feet. And even though his

The moment the words left the guard’s mouth, my father didn’t hesitate. He turned sharply, striding toward the door. I followed without thinking.“Father!” I called, nearly tripping on the steps.“Stay close, Evelyn,” he ordered, his tone grave. As I walked to the courtyard my heart thundered painfully in my chest. What’s happening? I whispered inwardly.Sylvara’s soft purr rippled through me. “Something familiar…”“Familiar?” I frowned, trying to catch my breath. “At a time like this, you’re purring?”“You’ll understand soon enough,”she said cryptically, her tone both teasing and… emotional. She sounded less worried.I didn’t have time to argue. The courtyard opened before us, a scene of chaos and confusion. Guards lined the sides, whispering among themselves, while a few Alphas stood frozen in disbelief. And there, lying on the cold marble ground…was Lord Dylen.“Dylen…” The name escaped me before I could stop it.I ran to him, my feet barely touching the ground. My father called af

Evelyn’s POV The golden rays slid across the floorboards, catching the floating dust and making them shimmer like tiny spells. I sat by the window, half-dressed, watching the maids dart around the room like busy little birds. They were folding silks, sealing jars, whispering charms into each piece of fabric that would follow me to the human world. They all seemed so happy. I tried to smile, but it didn’t reach my chest. Something about the air felt… heavy.“Lady Evelyn, your cloak has been cleaned and re-enchanted,” one of the maids said, bowing slightly.“Thank you,” I replied, my voice softer than I intended. I tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear, pretending to look busy so they wouldn’t notice how lost I felt.Sylvara stirred within me, her voice a faint echo in my head. “You’re unusually quiet today.”I sighed inwardly. “I’m just tired.”“No,” she said gently, "you're uneasy.”I didn’t answer. She was right, I was uneasy. My body felt fine, but something deep in me was re

Dylen’s POVKaela’s spell shimmered through the air, before it sank into her skin, making her doze off. Avelynne sighed in her sleep, her lashes trembling once before stilling again.“She won’t wake,” Kaela murmured.“I know,” I whispered. My voice was rough and tight in my throat. She lay there, half bathed in silver light, her chestnut hair spilling over the pillow like the remnants of dusk. Every breath she took dragged me deeper into ruin. I’d seen her fight, seen her bleed, seen her die once before—but this? Watching her sleep, fragile, untouched? That was what truly killed me.I moved closer. The scent of her was faint—moon lilies and warmth, something wild that made my control splinter. My fingers twitched, aching to touch. Her scent was still the same,it hadn't changed.“Ours.”Kaelith’s voice growled inside my head, feral and desperate.I shut my eyes, but it didn’t help. I could still see her,the delicate rise and fall of her chest, the curve of her lips that had once whispe
