“You look beautiful as always Vanessa” Kate compliment politely.

And Vanessa smiles in response, it had been two days since the incident with Alex and she was glad he had kept his distance.

“i told ya” Emma whispered in her ear with a duh tune. She had relentlessly nag Vanessa to RSVP yes to the party and invited herself as her plus one, she felt it will somehow elevate her spirit even though she claimed she was fine.

“She's just being polite” Vanessa responded, scanning the room and occasionally nodding her head when she made eye contact with a familiar face.

She honestly wished she were back home getting some work from her pile of work done but she agreed to this just to show Emma she was fine like she said she was and get her to shut up.
