BILLY'S POV

Moments later, it began to drizzle. In a few minutes, she was completely drenched in the rain. She was confused, not knowing where to go. Should she go home? Or to the hospital where her dad was? Or go back and try to take responsibility for the girl she just shot?

In that moment of incertitude, a thousand versions of what would become of her soon invaded her mind. What if she went to prison? Or worse, get placed on death row?

Her heart pounded heavily against her chest as she trekked under the rain roaming the streets without a destination in mind.
