Chapter 99

LILY'S POV

She stood up slowly and left Arthur’s presence in a speed walk. Then she went to the hospital’s front desk and met the receptionist. “Hi. Please, I’m trying to find my friends’ room. Her name is Aria.”

“Aria Who?” the receptionist asked.

Amelia, after thinking and not knowing her surname, came up with a lie. “Um, I don’t think I can remember her surname. She’s a new colleague at work. I think she had a gunshot wound...”

“Oh, let me see.” the receptionist brought out a big log book. “Okay, Aria Adams. She’s in room 306. 3rd floor.” She said.

“Okay. Thank you very much.” She smiled and left.

She took the elevator, and in less than a minute she was standing in front of room 306.

She peeked in through the window and saw the room was empty, except for Aria lying comatose on the bed.

She snuck in, and while her heart pounded in fear for what she was about to do, she had no option. She just had to do it. Her life depended on it.
