Zara's POV

I froze for a second. Why would Andrew say something like that? Was he aware of what I had been going through? But how?

Sighing, Andrew said, “I know how much you have been working to get into this hospital. The internship was your dream, Zara but I know that Tania got this internship.”

Okay, so he was talking about the internship that was snatched off from my hands. I thought he was aware of what a thunderstorm was going on between Xander and me.

I stayed silent. Deep down, it really hurt bad to see your dreams breaking but it had already been shredded into pieces and I couldn't do anything about it.

I was taken aback by what Andrew said next.

“I am sorry, Zara. I couldn't do anything to get that internship back.” He frowned.

“Why are you apologizing?” I asked instantly.

“I know this internship was important for you not only for your career but also to stay closer to your mother. It's a shame that I can't do anything for you, Zara,” he said dolefully, his eyes low.
