Chapter Forty Four

(Cara's POV)

Rollins Wolf turned to me and ran straight at me. I was too afraid to move. His paws came at me, and the force of his hit pushed me hard against the wall. I felt the hot liquid trailing down my eyes; I didn't want to know what it was. I stood to my feet unsteady, my eyes fixed on Rollins, and I approached him again, slowly this time.

"Nexa," I called again, and he growled loudly, but he didn't attack this time. "I want to speak with Rollins," I requested. "Please," I added.

I didn't know who I was talking to now, I couldn't tell if Nexa had finally let Rollins through.
