Chapter Nine

Valerie pov

I couldn’t get the thought of Charles cheating on me with his first love out of my head but I had to reassure myself that o would certainly get them to pay for what they had done to me.

I looked up my email to see Charles email sitting pretty.

That devil still had the mind to send my emails after all he has done? How shameless of him.

I clicked to see the contain only to see that he had propose that our company partner together.

Haha! The market is already dealing with him and he wants me to do him a favour.

But I hate to inform him that I was no longer the lady who used to beg for his love and who made sure his company was running smoothly.

I head a knock at my door and it was Ray, my brother it it was the bastard son of a witch.

“Why the hell are you even here?”

“You were not responding to my calls, emails or text messages.”

“And why should I Mr Charles.” I said and I saw the confused loon on his face. I have never addressed him so formally but I think he should get used yo it no as we are now divorced.

“Why are you been formal with me Valerie?”

“If you are not here to talk about anything meaningful then I think your time here is up Mr Charles, I’ve got important things to do.”

“Did you Atleast look up the email I sent to you.”

“Funny how I read it this morning. I wasn’t planning on giving you any reply but since you are here, I’ll give you the reply to your stupid email. I won’t be partnering with you.”

“Why are you doing this?” He said as he rushed to my side and grabbed my arm which made me winced in pains.”

“Let go of me Charles.” I said looking at him with hate in my eyes. He did and pace around the room like an angry dog.

“It’s not me who asked for a divorce, you did.”

“Ohh. I see what you are trying to say. I should have just pretended that you loved me so that you and your mother could continue taking me as a fool isn’t that so Charles?”

“That’s not it. I loved Fiona yes but you are different from her. You are hardworking and if I should say I don’t feel bad about our divorce I’ll be lying.”

“You bastard you don’t even have any shame to talk nonsense in front of me. Since you love Fiona that much, I suggest you meet with her to take care of you problem not me.”

“I…”

“Don’t you say another word Charles. Me and you are done, we are divorced so please let me be and get out of my office before I call the security on you.”

“There’s no need for that Valerie, I’ll leave but you’ll regret divorcing me.”

“Oh sure I will coward. GET OUT!!” And off he went.

My heart pondered so hard in my chest that could swear I heard my heartbeat very loud and clear.

Why couldn’t just let me be. Nonsense.

I mailed all my staff to let tell them never to let Charles into my company again or they’ll face the consequences from me.

I took a break to cool of before focusing on my new designs which I sketched in my Sketchbook.

I had created more than hundred designs which I initially wanted to gift to Charles but i thanked the heavens that I realized he didn’t deserve me.

Now, it was time to show the word my design and make more name Timmy company. My heart jumped for joy.

The Jewelry conference was coming up son and I’ll need to creat some jewelry.

The jewelry conference was an event where artist showcased their works and then after the display, auction is held.

I knew that Charles would like to participate and that was going to be a great event to humiliate him.

But by bit I’ll make him pay. After all he won’t have created company without me and in as much that the company was his, it was mine as well.

“Hello father.”

“Hello my princess, how are you? I didn’t get to see you before you left for work today.”

“I was in a hurry to come finish up some things.”

“Okay. I was told that Charles came visiting . I hope he didn’t hurt you?” Dad asked.

“No, he just came for a stupid business deal which I didn’t approve.”

“That shameless fool, I hope you show him his place.”

“Of course I will dad.”

We talked for a while about his deals with the president on business and then talked about dinner before I ended the call.

I did some few documents walk before I headed out to buy myself lunch.

I hated the fact that Fiona was acting like a flea. Why couldn’t she be on her own.

“What did you discuss with my fiancé , you bitch.”

“If I were you, I’ll watch my mouth and tame my man.”

“Charles will never be yours again Valerie.”

“I don’t want him, he knows that already.” I said with a smirk as I watch Fiona fume in anger.

“And lastly Fiona, try as much as you can to stay away from me or I’ll crush you into piece that you’ll be begging.”

“Is that a threat?”

“Anyone you see it as, Have a good day.” I said and zoomed of the restaurant building with my can.

Life went on with me busy with work and finally free from the clutches of Charles but then my happiness was short lived and my whole world began to crumble again but this time it was for the worst.

I and my family were involved in an accident and so I lost my father and my brother went into coma.

I was the only one who survived but with broken legs, I couldn’t walk again according to the doctors. I began to use the wheelchair.

I felt like the heavens were against me for letting me and my family to suffer. Investigation were made and the FBI claimed the accident was planned.

What happens next leaves me in shock.
