Chapter 19

DACIANA'S POV

A knock sounded on the door, I glanced at the clock on the wall. It was two in the afternoon and I've been waiting for Corni to come back home. I don't want to believe that I hurt him with my words but somewhere deep inside me, I knew that I did.

He's been nothing but good and kind to me. He has only shown me that part of him that not many people know and what did I do, slam it back in his face like a freaking pancake.

Of course, there's no way I can give him my bare neck as an appreciation for his kind heart but at least I could have said it in a less accusing way. I made a promise to myself to apologize to him the minute I opened the door.

“I'm sorry-” I halted as my eyes came in contact with pale brown orbs. His hair was in a tousled mess as usual.

“What are you sorry for? Or was that apology meant for someone else?” He smirked and I smiled. “Marcel, I wasn't expecting you today.”
