Chapter 10

Cassie POV

“Hey Cass, Boss wants to see you,” Greg said the moment I walked through the door of the nightclub on Wednesday evening.

I sighed inwardly and made a beeline for his office, climbing the stairs two at a time.

“Cassie, come in and close the door,” I heard Boss's booming voice as I approached the office.

I silently obeyed and closed the door behind me with a click. “What's up, Boss?”

He looked a bit pained as he sat back in his chair. “Tell me, are you alright?”

I was a bit taken aback. Boss wasn't exactly the most insightful individual I'd ever met and he usually just told people to keep their private life outside the doors of his club.

“Yeah, I'm fine,” I said slowly. “If it's about the bottles of shooters that I dropped, I promise I will pay for them.”

“Oh, no no no. It's got nothing to do with that, but damned right you'll pay for them,” he replied, his New Jersey accent thickening as he spoke. “It's just that a man was looking for you here last night. One of the guy
