Chapter 6

Dylan’s Point of View

When the cab came to a stop Dylan swung open the door and puked on the sidewalk. Kathrine held her hair back making sure she didn’t ruin her hair. She just kept apologizing to the cab driver. Kathrine then helped Dylan out of the cab and led the way into her apartment building to her floor.

“I don’t think you need to drive home in this condition,” Kathrine said with sympathy.

“Yeah, I will just crash on your couch,” Dylan replied while swinging back and forth.

“Sure,” Kathrine replied while unlocking her apartment.

Kathrine opened the door and led Dylan inside. Dylan spotted the couch and fell onto it face-first. She let out a loud sigh before turning over to face the roof. Scooting up she leaned against the backrest of the couch. She stared at Kathrine with loamy eyes.

“He’s into you,” Dylan said with a big smile stretching from one ear to the other.

“You’re drunk, you need to get some sleep,” Kathrine said while handing her a blanket.

“You know I’m right. Maybe he is the one? You never know.” Saying this Dylan covered herself, to warm up. Kathrine found a spot to sit next to her.

Kathrine shook her head before replying, “You’re being delusional. He is a successful businessman. No way he will ever go for someone as ordinary as me. Besides, he had probably forgotten all about me, and I will do the same.”

Dylan rolled her eyes, “Wow…” She fluttered her eyes quickly.

“What’s wrong?” Kathrine asked as she got ready to jump up.

Dylan lifted her hand, puckering her lips, “The world just spun for a second, I’m good.”

“Dude! Don’t fucking do that.” Kathrine replied while falling back into the chair.

“But back to the point, that guy was really into you,” Dylan said while leaning her head back.

“Please stop it. I’m not going to see him again.” Kathrine replied while making her way to her feet.

“Maybe you will. I gave my number to that cute blonde one.” Dylan then started to whisper, “If only I was in his bed at his moment, getting…” She stopped before continuing. “You know what.” She winked.

“Dude! Really?” Kathrine said while pouring water into a glass. “Is that the only thing you think about?” She asked while walking over to Dylan and handing her the glass of water.

“No…” Dylan stopped and thought for a few seconds, “Maybe, a little.”

“Seriously? Oh my gosh.” Kathrine said while she giggled.

Dylan also started to giggle. She leaned back, then looked back at Kathrine. Stretching out her arms, gesturing for Kathrine to snuggle her. Kathrine rolled her eyes and snuggled into her arms. Smiling.

“I never want to lose you. You are the best person that ever came into my life.” Dylan said as she played with Kathrine’s brown long hair.

“Just say you love me.” They both giggled. “You’re the best person in my life too.”

“But back to the point, will you ever see that guy again?” Dylan asked, then looked down at Kathrine.

“Maybe, might even work for him. He offered me a job. But doubt he will remember it.” Kathrine said with a sad facial expression.

“What? Then you need to see him later. And ask if he was joking or not. It might not be the job that you really want but at least you will be able to pay the bills, and not be homeless.” Dylan said as she tapped Kathrine’s arm.

“I’ll think about it. Not sure if the guy will remember me. Truth be told I can’t remember his name.” Kathrine said with a giggling tone.

“Please do. Just because it isn’t what you want to do for the rest of your life, maybe it is something you need. You’ll never know if you don’t try.” Saying this Dylan then let out a loud yawn.

“Maybe we should climb into bed, and not sleep on the couch?” Kathrine said with uncertainty.

“Yeah, yeah. We can do that in a minute.” Dylan scooted down, to get more comfortable. She then let out a sigh of relief. “So glad we didn’t drive.”

Kathrine giggled, “You can say that again.”

“Will you wake me up for woke?” Dylan asked as she snuggled tighter.

“Sure. I will try my best.” Kathrine replied, then sneaked out from her arms.

Dylan opened her eyes to see Kathrine standing in front of her adjusting her blanket. She gave her a smile and closed her eyes then dosed off.

Dylan opened her eyes to see that it was still dark outside. She felt refreshed, she decided to quickly run across the street to get eggs and bacon. When she returned to quickly check the time, it was just past six in the morning. Grabbing a pan and a toaster, she quickly started making breakfast.

She noticed that Kathrine was still fast asleep in her bed. Smiling, she continued with the breakfast. Throwing two slices of white bread into the toaster, then cracked two eggs into a pan, and placed bacon strips in as well. Turning on the kettle for a nice warm cup of coffee.

Dylan turned on some music and then started dancing in the kitchen. Grabbing her phone, she saw it was almost seven AM. The toast jumps out and grabbing it she spreads some butter for it to start melting. The eggs and bacon were sizzling in the pan.

Kathrine walked into the kitchen not long after, rubbing her eyes. “What’s going on?” She asked.

“Morning sleeping beauty. Did you sleep well?” Dylan asked as she dished up a place of breakfast for Kathrine.

“Yeah. What time is it?” Kathrine asked with a sleepy tone.

“Almost seven,” Dylan replied and placed the plate of food and a cup of coffee in front of Kathrine. “Eat up. Well, I need to get going sweetie, I will see you. I will call you later.” She grabbed a piece of toast before grabbing a travel mug with coffee.

“Enjoy work and thank you for this,” Kathrine said with a little smile.

“Love yah. Talk to you later. Kisses.” Dylan said while she blew Kathrine kisses.

“Bye,” Kathrine said as Dylan closed the door.

Dylan made her way down the stairs and stood on the curb, while waiting for a cab she received a text. She took out her phone from her pocket then opened the text, and it read:

Hey there beautiful, was wondering if we can meet for coffee later. Let me know when you are available. Anthony.’

A seductive smile appeared on her face. She decided to ignore his message for about an hour before she would reply. Putting away her phone, a cab pulled up at the curb, she jumped in and as the driver to take her to Wall Street where she worked.
