We all stood at the doors of the hangar and watched as Emma’s plane taxied down the runway. I tighten my arm around Skyler, bringing her in closer so that I can place a kiss on the side of her head. It feels so good to have the family back together and whole. As I turn with Skyler to head back home, I stop and watch the plane as it suddenly stops at the beginning of the runway.
I know that is not something that should happen as Roger is a skilled pilot and would only stop if there was trouble. I remove my arm from around Skyler and take a few deep breaths as I continue to watch the plane. The plane starts moving once more, but now I can smell a hint of a scent that shouldn’t be here.
