EMMA A week after the Mater returned Norman corner me once more in one of the guest chambers that I entered after cleaning the Master’s chamber and he had been in there checking on the Master. I try to keep my scream in as he grabs my wrists, clamping something around one of them as he walks me backward until my back hits the wall. JEREMIAH All I see is darkness, I call out, but no one seems to hear me or answer. That is until the most wonderful scent surrounds me. I feel the most softest of touches and wrap my arms around it. Then it doesn’t seem to matter that I am in that darkness as she is with me. She stays with me for I don’t know how long and then disappears.I search through the darkness, inhaling deeply and reaching out, hoping to find her scent or her touch. It seems like a lifetime before it seems to return. My soul seems to relax, as that scent and touch surrounds me once more. I hold it, hold her tight to me once more and notice that while she is within my embrace, the darkness is fading, and a soft light eliminates from her. Then she is gone again.I don’t know how long this keeps going for, but every time I have my arms around her, her touch and her scent make the darkness fade and my surroundings seem to get brighter. JEREMIAH I feel my anger still rising as he continues, “When I fought you, it was not you… And the fact that I managed to get the better of you was proof of that…” “Still, she is mine, and you had no right to interfere…” I feel my eyes flash, and a wave of very strong anger overtakes me. I don’t think I just lunge at him. I connect with his jaw before he realises what is happening, but it doesn’t take long for him to block and fight back. We go back and forth, dodging and hitting. I am taken by surprise when he manages to hit me hard in the side of the jaw, knocking me to the floor, where I then hit the back of my head. EMMA His eyes continue to follow his fingers as they skim over his mark before he slowly lifts them to my eyes as he whispers. “This should have been your choice to receive. Yes, I am your mate, as Odette keeps saying, but it still should have been your choice and I am the one who is sorry…” He then leans forward and places a soft kiss on my lips. I can’t stop it now and break down crying. The Master pulls back from his kiss, pulls me more into his chest and just holds me as I cry. I must have passed out as when I woke the next evening, I was wrapped in cool arms. I smile and stretch, letting out a low moan. The arms surrounding me tighten, and I tense as I hear a soft male chuckle behind me. He then places soft kisses on the back of my shoulder and neck, causing tingles to spread over my skin everywhere his lips touch. I whimper and whisper, “Master?” “It is okay, Em.” He continues to place soft kisses on my skin as he whispers, “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry… Please forgive me…”

THIRD PERSON Emma doesn’t know that she is still being watched. He smiles as he sees her hobble into the prince’s chambers and knows that he will be called upon to see to her injuries later. It had actually gone better than he thought it would.Once Emma had disappeared inside, Norman steps out of the shadows and walks down the hall to where her guard, Nathan, is leaning on the wall, smirking. Norman smiles and nods, passing Nathan a small vial of a clear liquid as he passes him, heading to his office.Nathan puts the vial in his pocket and pushes himself off of the wall. Now that the healer has given him what he needed, he calls it a morning and heads to his bed within the warrior wing. JEREMIAH I don’t get an answer to any of my questions, but I do hear a whimper come from Emma. I hold the handle and throw my shoulder into the door. After I have done this a couple of times, I shake my head at myself as I remember that I had the doors reinforced so that no one, not even a vampire, could break them open. I straighten and then reach into my pocket and pull out my keys. I slip the right one into the bedroom lock and open the door. I don't see anything out of the ordinary other than Norman being just a little paler than normal as he steps back from pulling out a bandage from his medical bag. He then steps back up in front of Emma, lifts her hand, and starts wrapping her wrist. I don’t miss how she not only flinches but whimpers as well. Once he is done, he puts what is left of the bandage back in his medical bag, picks it up, and walks over to me. He gives me a tube of our healing cream and says, “They are all superficial bruises and small cuts. The only real damage I

JEREMIAH I sigh and stand up straighter, I then wash her gently and as I finish, she asks, “Can I wash you, Master?” I thought about saying no and just taking her back to the bed and maybe sending a little more pleasure through her. If I can get her to trust and then maybe love me again, I would be the happiest vampire in the world. I look into her eyes and I am surprised when I see the hope in them, as well as fear. Not liking the fear or the sadness that slowly creeps into them the longer I take to answer her. I nod my head, allowing her to wash me. I am a little disappointed when that is all she does. When she has finished, she steps out of the shower, wraps a towel around herself, and walks out of the bathroom. I turn off the water and grab the other towel. Wrapping it around my waist, I walk out of the bathroom to find my clothes already laid out on the end of the bed. I look over at the closet and watch as Emma exits wearing her servant's uniform. EMMA Believing that Norman had seen the Master's mark and knew what that meant and that he couldn't touch me anymore. I jump slightly as Norman walks up behind me, places his hands on my shoulders and then slides them down my arms, curling his fingers around my wrists. He steps in closer, placing his lips against the skin on my neck. I don’t move as the burning runs through me. I don’t scream as he then sinks his fangs in and takes deep pulls. Norman slightly tightens his fingers on my wrists as he lifts them and wraps his arms around me, crossing my arms over my chest. He then tightens them even more, pulling me in closer to him as he continues to take deep pulls from my neck. I whimper a little as I feel his excitement pressed tightly to my lower back. After one last pull, he removes his fangs and swipes his tongue over his bite, removing all the evidence from my skin. Norman then places another soft kiss on my skin and whispers, “She was right. Even with the blocker I have on
