She heard Eugene asking out of the blue.

Caught in between her tangled thoughts, Abby failed to realize that they already walked inside one of the emporiums. As such, when her soul was pulled back to reality, Abby almost jumped on her feet.

Because standing not too far away from where she was, was a creature that was enough to give anyone a nightmare.

Eugene, on the other hand, already expected such a reaction from Abby. So he was considerate enough to put his arm over Abby.

Meanwhile, the warmth that he brought seemed to work its wonder at Abby because as soon as the other party felt his hand over her, she instantly calmed down.

For some reason, Abby found Eugene's presence quite reassuring as though no harm would come in her way as long as the other party was around.
