After stopping by at the necro store, Eugene finally decided to go home.
Abby did not have an idea what he did in that store and she also did not mention to the other party the thing about the weird lady.
It took them almost half the day to finish buying everything. Good thing that, Abby already bought groceries the other day so all left to her now was to cook and prepare for lunch.
"Hello, master. Hello, little girl. Welcome back."
Jorah greeted them as soon as they arrived.
"Did you get me a treat???"
He asked afterward and then he gave Eugene an expectant look. His pupils dilated as his eyes went wide as that of an adorable puppy eye and Abby found it cute.
In fact, even Eugene could not resist Jorah's cuteness whenever the cat did that.
"Of course, I brought you so
"Believe me, it just a waste of time. Befriending people and giving them your trust was like allowing more people to betray you.""Why are you so pessimistic about your views in life? It is not always like that! You know what? If only have the money and opportunity like you? I would probably be the happiest girl alive. If only I am as rich as you are. I would go to college and make a lot of friends. Perhaps, I might even search for my love interest ....."Abby said with a dreamy sigh."Maybe I could even get a chance to meet Bryan more often."She whispered."And who is this Bryan, you were referring to?""Huh? Who's Bryan. Nothing! Don't mind him, I am not even supposed to mention his name."Abby said in agitation then she slapped her talkative mouth and lips."So a childhood sweetheart then???"Eugene probed and seeing the other party blush, he felt like teasing her more."Of course not! I told you it's nothing.""Then why are you getting all so worked up with just the mention of thi
"Too noisy..."Out of the blue, Eugene started descending down the stairs. Then in the next instant, Abby found herself floating in the air, which did not come as a surprise to her anymore. In fact, she already grew quite used to it now since the other party often did that to her as he reckoned that it was good practice for her to overcome her fear of heights."Eugene put me down. Look what you have done? Our clothes got mixed up again."She said but there was no hint of annoyance in her voice as she was still feeling over the clouds knowing what the other party had done for her.Eugene also brought her down the floor afterward but he was caught off guard when Abby ran to his arms. The other party hugged him tightly due to her mixed up emotion of excitement and delight that she was feeling.Eugene remained frozen on the spot as he did not know what to react. Abby on the other hand, pulled away awkwardly when she realized what she had done.Due to her over excitement, she ended up huggi
After that short but awkward encounter at the living room, Abby's day went on pretty much normal as how it was on usual days. She did the laundry, cleaned every nooks and cranny of the house, then she also prepared the meal, do the dishes, and repeat!Jorah was there to assist here and there, but obviously, almost all of the works were done by Abby, herself since the cat could not exactly cover enough household chores by himself alone. Her task revolved almost everything that a housekeeper would normally do. Nothing out of ordinary, which was somehow contrary to what she initially expected.Signing an apprenticeship contract with not just an ordinary man but a warlock made Abby think that she would eventually have to get used to dealing with things related to sorcery. However, living with Eugene under the same roof for a month, she came to realize that her prejudice was unfounded since it did not seem that the other party even have any plan of having her do or touch anything related to
Going out of her room, Abby realized that the house was nearly empty."Hmmm... They must have been in the secret room again."She told herself as she started making her way to the said room.'Secret Room' was what Abby used to call the chamber where Eugene brought her the first time they met to have her signed the blood contract. But after that night, Abby had been kept out of the room and she never visited it again. Firstly because there was no way for her to enter the room without Eugene's consent. The room would only open itself once Eugene did his hocus pocus and obviously, Abby could not duplicate even a portion of what he was doing. Even though it looked just as simple as randomly tapping on the brick walls."EHEM!"Standing outside, just before what she believed to be the entrance of the room, Abby deliberately cleared her throat first before deciding to announce her presence."Eugene???? Are you there???"She called out of thin air, but even after waiting for a few seconds, she
Abby subconsciously reached out on her pocket when she heard Eugene said that"How did you know?"She could not help but ask the other party but soon after, she also came up with an answer of her own.Meanwhile, Eugene only gave her a shrug and flashed her a cocky smile as though implying that it was as easy as a piece of cake for him."Alright, but make it quick. I expect to see you back here before nightfall. Is that clear?"Eugene reminded her sternly and since the other party was her master, Abby had no other choice but to relent. Besides, it was not like she would love to spend some time with their old landlord in the first place. So she nodded her head right away and gave in to the other party's condition without giving it a second thought."Gotta go!"She said as she bid them her farewell and waved them goodbye."Keep safe, little girl."Jorah called out as they watched Abby's back going farther away from them."She would be fine alone, right?"Jorah asked his master as soon as
"You heard him just fine. Where is the bankbook?""Bankbook? I don't have it. My aunt took it all."Abby replied with a quivering voice. However, her reply only seemed to trigger the other party even more as he turned more aggressive. He grabbed Abby on her collar and spat threatening words through his gritted teeth."Now, I must tell you that I don't have much patience so stop fooling around. Your bitch auntie told us that you have it and now you are telling me that she has it? Clearly one of you must be lying but I have no time to waste playing detective. I believe you are a wise girl. You must have heard in the news already what usually happened on little girls after being taken on isolated places. Don't you???"He said before he stuck his tongue and leaned closer to Abby to take in her scents. He licked the skin behind Abby's ear and Abby felt goosebumps upon that contact.Abby closed her eyes as tears fell on her eyes. She did not know what to do and all she could think of was,"E
"Woah! Tone it down a little bit partner. You don't want to ruin our toy before we could even enjoy ourselves with it. Don't you?"The man driving the car said as he looked over the rearview mirror to check the situation behind him.
"Huh? How did you know that, master???"Jorah inquired with his whiskers twitching at both sides due to his utter confusion. It was not that he suspected that his master was trying to bluff in anyway, but it was just that as far as he knew, his master did not have any foretelling ability.Yes, he was indeed a capable warlock, maybe even unmatched among his peers, but if his memory was not failing him yet, during his years of living with Eugene, the talking tomcat also never heard of the other party having a premonition before. However, Eugene no longer had time to explain to his cat so instead of giving light to Jorah's doubt, Eugene only beckoned to him to make some haste."I also don't know how I just knew. Quick! We have to go save her."And without wasting another minute of their time, Eugene readied his wand and ran outside. His cat, Jorah, naturally followed behind him.Meanwhile, the sky grew darker; the wind blew colder and raindrops started to fall as though the clouds itself
