LOGINCatherine's POV
We went to Noah and Hedwig's classroom, and I saw that Noah and Hedwig were both playing games with their friends. "Mommy! Abigail! You are here!" Hedwig saw us and ran over happily. Abigail looked at Hedwig happily. "Hedwig, I'm here to see you." Hedwig grabbed Abigail's hand. "Abigail, this is the first time you've picked me up from school." Abigail's eyes turned red when she heard Hedwig's words. I sighed emotionally. Hedwig seemed naturally close to Abigail. "Abigail, what's wrong? Are you crying?" Hedwig asked with concern. "No. I'm just happy. I'm overjoyed. You and Noah have become this big. I want to be there and witness your change every day from now on. Do you like me?" Abigail said gently. "Of course, I do. I would be so happy if you could pick me up every day. By the way, will you bring some snacks too?" Hedwig felt her stomach. "Hedwig, are you hungry?" Abigail immediately asked.Cassandra looked at these women who usually crushed cases with total efficiency. Now they were acting like giggling freshmen, shy and excited, barely daring to raise their voices. It was like she was meeting her office for the first time."Totally."Harley smiled warmly. "You're all Cassandra's coworkers, right?"He deliberately glanced at Cassandra, who was still stiff as a board beside him, feeling a mischievous urge to mess with her.He really wanted to see if she knew just how popular he was."No way, really? Oh my god. Cassandra, what is your deal with him? He acts like he really likes you!"Someone immediately turned to Cassandra, sounding jealous, trying to pry some information from her obviously flustered expression.Cassandra quietly clenched her fists. Her voice was firm. "We have zero relationship.""We're friends, old schoolmates, and kind of neighbors."Harley calmly added, listing several connections.
Cassandra slammed the files onto the desk. She put her hands on her hips, pointed toward the door, and let her anger fly. "Get. Out. Now. ""I'm not leaving."Harley sat back down firmly, settling in like he was ready to wait it out forever."Harley, you have zero shame."Cassandra was genuinely frustrated. She wasn't scared of threats. But the thing she cared most about was her professional reputation, which she had spent years building. For a lawyer, that was everything."So?"Harley spoke slowly. "Just say yes. Sell me that land. I'll sign the contract and pay you immediately. You'll never hear from me again."He felt like victory was just around the corner.Cassandra's already pale face flushed crimson. She gritted her teeth. "I told you, I'm not selling. If you can hear, you should understand that.""But this standoff isn't good for either of us, is it?"Harley narrowed his eyes, tapping his fin
Harley had his agent drive him to the office building where Cassandra's law firm was located. Her office was on the fifteenth floor. The building housed dozens of companies, so it was pretty busy.Harley quickly glanced at the lobby and told his agent and assistant, "I'll go up myself. You guys stay put.""You have to be careful."His agent couldn't help but stress the warning.Harley nodded, opened the car door, and quickly headed toward the elevator. It was rush hour, so the elevator was packed.Harley kept his baseball cap pulled low and his mask on, trying to look like some random guy. He made it to the fifteenth floor without any issues."Hey, excuse me, where is Cassandra the lawyer's office?"Harley felt lost the second he stepped off the elevator, so he stopped a girl at a nearby reception desk."It's the last office down the hall."The girl heard his deep, attractive voice and immediately looked hi
"Because you seriously look like you need it."The young man took two steps closer, adjusted his glasses, and smiled. "Who doesn't hit a rough patch? Who doesn't need a hand sometimes? When I first came here for school, I ran into dead ends everywhere. If no one hadn't helped me, I wouldn't be here teaching now.""I have a good reason to hide who I am."Sunny bit her lip, making sure she was clear. "If you can keep my identity a secret, I promise I'll work really hard.""Follow me."The young man nodded and then asked, "How's your German?""I can hold a conversation." Sunny replied. "By the way, I didn't catch your name.""I'm Justin."She followed the man into the school principal's office. They were only looking for an intern teaching assistant, mainly for the kids' English classes.Sunny's professional background was a perfect match. She just had to leave out a lot of personal info.Surprisingly, Justin
The feeling was like finding an extra steak in a regular takeout order. It made them excited, touched, and almost tearful.Leo sat on the sofa in the lobby, tapping his finger lightly on the armrest. His eyes were fixed on a point in front of him, and his mind was suddenly much quieter. But then, he worried again—was she safe alone in a strange country? Would she run into any trouble? His brain immediately filled with images of her hustling by herself.Anyway, whether he could find her or see her wasn't the only thing that mattered to Leo anymore.A few staff members stood before him, their expressions hopeful."Boss, what are we eating for lunch?"One guy was so hungry his stomach growled. His eyes lit up at the mention of food."A feast."Leo answered without hesitation. He planned to treat the subordinates who had been running around with him day and night.Everyone looked surprised and delighted. Two days ago, Leo was a ticking time bomb, dark and furious. Now, he was suddenly cal
"She flew overseas solo, then vanished. Phone's off. I've been here two days, man. I've looked for her two days straight, and nothing. Blake, I'm losing it, seriously. I'm hitting a wall. This woman is pushing me over the edge."Leo was totally strung out. He was so frustrated he thought that if Sunny suddenly appeared, he might actually grab her neck first, then give her mouth-to-mouth to save her.Blake finally understood. His face tightened. He lowered his voice. "Don't freak out. Take a deep breath and walk me through this, slowly.""Grandma definitely talked to her, told her something, and made her leave. That idiot just did what she was told, sacrificing herself to make Grandma happy."Leo was getting wound up. "She's incredibly frustrating. I told her, I promised her, I wouldn't leave her, and I would find a way to fix things for everyone. But she didn't trust me. She still snuck away."I know it's been two days, but Blake, why are women so
