LOGINHarley's POV
"You had a crush on me? When? I have no idea." I was telling the truth. Catherine had been the center of my attention, so, I was a little dazed at Gina's words. Status didn't matter to me. I didn't like Catherine because she was once the daughter of Alpha. "I'm sure you know it, Harley. You're just too shy to admit it, right? But I'm serious. I had a crush on you five years ago. Back then, you were close to Catherine, so I never dared to tell you," Gina said with a serious face. "Gina, why are you saying all this? It's water under the bridge now. Let it go." I calmed down in a short while. I stayed by Gina's side for the last five years through all the ups and downs. However, I only thought of her as my friend and colleague. That was all. "No, I don't want to let it go. Harley, you know that there are some sponsors in Hollywood with more resources. I've decided to find myself a rich sponsor. But before that, I hope that you wilAt that, Tabitha's face instantly turned white with anger. She slammed her palm on the table. "Why won't you listen to reason? Are you even my son anymore?""Mom, I'll listen to you on anything else, but I want to decide my own marriage. Since I'm with her, I can't just abandon her."Cedrick stood his ground, sticking to his choice.Tabitha was livid. Her face was pale green, and she was visibly shaking.Could Cedrick really ignore his family just because he found a mate?Benjamin was stunned by his mother's sudden table slap. His hand, holding the menu, froze in mid-air.Eda sighed internally. Cedrick really was a stand-up guy. Jessica was lucky. For a man to argue with his mother over a woman, his feelings must be sincere."Fine, I won't argue with you, but you won't talk about marriage without my permission," Tabitha said angrily, a hint of genuine hurt in her voice. She thought about the son who had never talked back
"All right, let's go. It's almost time," Benjamin said gently.Eda was only three months pregnant, and her bump wasn't showing yet.She still wore her professional suits. Her presence and poise were stronger than most people's.However, her makeup was lighter than before. She had stopped wearing heavy makeup, making her look much fresher.Benjamin stood beside Eda. They looked like a perfect match. When they walked out of the company together, they still attracted many envious glances.Benjamin brought Eda to the reserved restaurant. Tabitha, Benjamin's mother, had already arrived. She didn't have much else to do, so she was enthusiastic about everything."Tabitha!" Eda walked over and greeted her warmly."Eda, you're here. Hurry, sit down! Don't stand," Tabitha was very kind to Eda."Sorry to keep you waiting!" Eda said as she took a seat.Tabitha looked her over and quickly noticed something wrong. "Eda,
The two assistants didn't dare breathe, afraid of Leo's wrath.Leo gripped his phone so hard the veins bulged on the back of his hand. It looked like he wanted to crush his phone."Great. She had the nerve to break up with me unilaterally. How capable of her!"Leo gritted his teeth, mumbling to himself. His eyes flashed red—with anger."Boss, is there anything we can do?" one assistant asked, his voice shaking."Have someone look up Sunny's departure records. Hurry!" Leo forced himself to calm down and decided to handle it rationally. He would absolutely not allow Sunny to break up with him without his consent. It was a total insult to his pride."Yes, sir, I'll arrange the search immediately." The assistant nodded quickly.Given their professional connections and the vast influence of the Royal Pack, finding Sunny's exit records wouldn't be difficult.Ten minutes later, the assistant reported the findings.
"Leo, when you first came in, you asked if Sunny was here. Were you looking for her?" The old woman was sharp and caught on immediately.Leo nodded. "Yes, I am. We had a disagreement. Do you know where she usually goes?""I don't. Our landline broke recently. She called me a while ago using a neighbor's cell phone. She said she was doing great and even sent me a lot of things. She's such a sweet girl!"The old woman couldn't grasp how frantic Leo was. She just kept talking about how much she missed her granddaughter. After finishing his coffee, Leo suddenly decided to leave.Since Sunny wasn't here, he needed to find her somewhere else.He felt sure Moira was hiding something."I have an urgent matter. I promise I'll come back to have dinner with you and Sunny next time. I have to go now!" Leo said. He reached for his wallet, pulled out a card, then thought better of it. He quickly headed toward the door."How much cash do you
Leo gripped the note tightly. As his assistant drove, looking a little spaced out, Leo smoothed the paper out and checked the directions again."Sunny, you are NOT allowed to leave!" Leo repeated the phrase over and over in his mind. He'd always thought he was in control of this relationship. He believed Sunny could never escape his grasp. But now, he felt none of that confidence. He realized no one could dominate in love.Sunny looked fragile, yet Leo was far more invested in this relationship than she was.She probably couldn't grasp how desperately a person who had been lonely for a long time would cling to that sweet, warm feeling once they finally tasted it.It was like a fish needing water—a frantic, almost insane craving."Boss, we're taking the exit now. We didn't take a wrong turn, did we?" The assistant still looked bewildered."No. Exit here, then navigate again," Leo ordered in a low voice. The black SUV turned off the freeway and sped towards its destination. They were su
Once inside the car, Cedrick turned to Jessica. "You didn't tell your mom about this, did you?""Nope. Don't feel like it." Jessica's face was tense. She stared out the window, avoiding his deep gaze.Cedrick knew she was being stubborn. He gently patted her hair. "Then don't. No need to worry her.""Cedrick, I'm sorry. Didn't mean to snap," Jessica realized she was being moody and apologized softly."Shh, I get it. Let's drop it. Where you headed now? I'll drive you." Cedrick just wanted to make sure she wasn't mad at him. With a light laugh, he asked where she was going."Set, of course. You can drop me off there." Jessica no longer worried about being spotted by reporters. Her relationship with Cedrick was already public."Works for me." Cedrick skipped the company morning meeting. His whole morning was hers.As they drove toward the set, Jessica blurted out, "Cedrick, what if your mom's against us? What'll we do?"She'd bee
