Barbara's POV

As I entered my house in the pack environs, the atmosphere was tense. My packmates tried to greet me, but I didn't even acknowledge their presence. I was too furious, too damn furious to care about pleasantries, not after the humiliation that I had just gone through.

I stomped to my room, slamming the door shut with a loud bang. My friend, Lucia, looked up from her book and raised an eyebrow. "What's got you so worked up?" she asked.

I threw myself onto my bed and groaned. "Alpha Dwane," I muttered. "He humiliated me in front of the whole pack."

Lucia sat up, interested. "Why?? What did he do?"

"I don't want to talk about it," I said through gritted teeth. "Just leave me alone, I want to be alone for a while."
