“Go and have your dinner first, pups. We have some work to finish. We are going to Simon’s home.” Lucifer told them after some time, giving them the window to calm down.

Adolphus and Maddie slowly released me from their embraces and looked at us with concern.

“Everything is okay, pups. Don’t worry too much or else you will all look older than us.” I teased them while slapping Adolphus’s arm playfully.

Adolphus still looked at me with a skeptical gaze. I gave him an assuring smile and patted his cheek.

“Let’s go. We need to come back early too.” Lucifer urged in a low voice, holding me by my shoulder.

I nodded to him and then we walked away from the pups.

I could feel their gazes on my back, but I continued walking forward as if nothing had happened.

To be honest, staying calm in front of them was hard, but I was proud of myself for doing it without any fault.
