Madeline’s P.O.V.

“Calm down, pup. You cannot disrespect us like this.” The head of the council, Conrad Hemsworth, growled at me, trying to intimidate me after I broke the table in two halves.

“I am not disrespecting you, Councillor Conrad. I am questioning your understanding about me.” I spat angrily. My chest was hurting so badly because of the anger that I could lash out at them at any time.

“You have seen me growing up all these years, basically after that rogue attack in which I lost my wolf. Have you ever seen me lowering my head to anyone?” I asked him angrily, still trying hard to stay calm, but Aurora’s anger was fueling mine too.

His expression darkened but he didn’t open his mouth. Nickel was still sitting stiffly at the other side of the room, opposite to me.
