HAZEL

“Alpha Maddox, please forgive her, she wasn’t in her right mind?” Darren stood in front of me shivering so badly.

Instead, Maddox pushed Darren sideways, his eyes turning blue as he took in a deep breath, he tilted his eyes sideways like he was trying to read me.

Learning he could read minds with telepathy, I refused to think anything.

“I am interested in this slave of yours,” I looked up and met with his gaze, “Why?”

“Shut the hell up, Ivy!” Darren groaned as he stood on his feet.

“She has always been stubborn and too hard to control, and also not a slave, “ Darren pleaded again but I scoffed and was now on my feet.

“If she isn't your slave what other title would she hold?” Maddox's eyes did not leave mine for once, the same as I refused to be intimidated.

“Enjoy your feast,” I said wanting to walk out but he grasped my hands and pulled me back, his gaze staring straight at me and for some minutes, I felt everyone turn stiff.

I gasped looking everywhere, no one was moving, he couldn't stop time.

“Who are you?” He asked again, “Why aren't you showing courtesy to me? Why isn't my tone working on you?” He threw a series of questions I refused to respond to.

Having no other choice I brought out my knife, and slashed his hands pushing him backward.

Everyone moved now confused.

“I am not letting today pass by!” I screamed and dashed toward him, he was about to use his teleportation but I was fast to grab him and stabbed into his abdomen.

“Hazel!” Ivy screamed and I jabbed him one more time, his grip on my hands shook terribly.

Then I felt a very great force pushing me back, I saw my life flash through my eyes and just then I felt his grip on my hand stopping me from falling.

The stab wound affected him again and he let go of me holding his abdomen, “Alpha! The one which I think to be his Beta rushed toward him.

“What did you lowly mutt do!” his beta growled, shaking the building, then I felt something like a spear thrown toward me.

It felt like time stopped again and Maddox teleported, stopping the spear with his back, “Why was he protecting me?”

Everything stopped again and like Dejavu, he shut his eyes for a few minutes and everyone was back to normal.

I was so confused with what just happened that my gaze never left his

“Hazel?” I felt someone touch me to make me regain my senses.

I looked around to see them all staring at me weirdly, but Maddox's gaze held something like curiosity.

I stared at my hands to see it wasn’t bloody, “What the heck happened?”

“You were told to bow to Alpha Maddox but refused to?” I scoffed at what she just said.

I witnessed it, I stabbed him, this can't be all in my imagination.

He has something to do with what just happened.

“What did you do?” I wanted to stand up but his Beta stood before him and I felt my knee not moving.

“I want her,” I heard his voice say and my whole body turned pale.

He is a beast. I don't want to sound crazy but I am very sure he did something just now.

“Alpha, she is just someone you met for a few minutes. Why ask for her?” His beta asked, balling his fist.

“She is interesting,” he said with a smirk and Darren stood before me.

“Alpha, she is mine I can’t release her to you,”

Maddix scoffed and strolled toward him, it was like something flipped in him when Darren called me his.

He wanted to move his right hand but it didn’t, I noticed how the look on his face changed.

“Take in another one, this one offended me already by not bowing, I should teach her some lessons myself,” Darren fell to his knees and balled his fist.

“I… will give her the greatest punishment if you want but please…”

“Her wolf is dead, her body has been destroyed, so tell me why you are still bent on having her?” Maddox cut him off with a snarl.

“I also don’t wish to go with you, I would rather have..” I touched the knife by my side but it was no longer there.

“Are you looking for this?” He showed me the pocket knife I had hidden, and I froze as I stared at it in shock.

So it wasn't all my imagination. I couldn't stop him, he quickly took the knife, “Give it to me?” I dashed toward him but couldn't find him anymore until I cracked behind me.

“Hazel! Why were you having a knife?” Darren almost went breathless.

And then I let out a dirty laugh, “Because I want the bastard dead!”

“Have you gone crazy? He is not someone you should speak to that way!” His beta kicked me and again Maddox saved me from falling.

“She is mine to handle and no one else!” his voice vibrated. Darren and everyone else present bowed including his Beta but I refused to.

“See I see you are interesting,” he mumbled and stretched his hands past me. I looked back to see my sister lifted off her feet and was now being strangled by Maddox.

I gasped in fright, “Let my sister go!” I groaned, and then I felt my body getting weak too.

“If you choose to go with me then I will let her go!” he replied and I shook my head.

“No! I won’t,” his grip around her neck tightened and I had no choice but to give up.

I fell to my knees bowing my head.

“Isn't this what you want? I have given up please to hurt my sister.” I coughed out, she was losing her breath and I was being affected by it.

“I have always heard that attacking the one close to the stubborn one is their weakness, I finally witnessed it.” he mocked.

‘Seize her!” He growled and his Beta pulled me up, he was too strong for me so I couldn’t resist.

He let go of Ivy but she held on his leg, “Take me instead,” she breathed out.

Maddox hit her with the back of the knife and she fell to the floor grunting in pain, that infuriated the anger in me, but I couldn’t move, if I was not careful I would lose my life.

“You are taking her nowhere!'' Darren thundered wanting to attack him, but a bundle of money was thrown at him making him halt his movement.

He charged for the money as the greed in him revealed itself, “Hungry Bastard!” I grumbled under my breath.

“We will see next time!” was all I heard before I felt myself pulled 0ut of the packhouse.

I could only cry silent tears, “Ivy,” I grunted, what would become of her? I have always protected her but now I won't be there anymore to do so anymore all because of this bastard.

Weakly she summoned the strength to stand up, crying out my name.

“Let me see my sister for the last time please,” I used in the most weak and calm voice I could convene. I didn’t know if it would work but I hoped it would.

“Let her go, Zeus,” he ordered, and immediately I was let off, I ran toward my sister In tears pulling her for a tight hug.

“I will avenge our parent's death, stay strong for me, I promise to come get you! I will make him pay!” I whispered to her hearing alone, and her hold on me tightened.

“I can't bear to lose you, please take care of yourself well, so we can meet again,” she replied.

“Enough for this reunion! Take her away.” Darren yelled and I cast him a deadly glare.

“Hurt her and I will be back to haunt you,” I growled and just then I was pulled by Zeus leaving the pack for the first time in eight years.
