HAZEL

We finally stopped in front of a very high-story building after a long journey back to their place of residence.

“Welcome Alpha,” some men walked out and bowed to him, they gaped at me baffled, but I just avoided their gaze.

I might be struck by the beauty of this mansion but that doesn't make me forget my reason for being here.

“Let me down,” I struggled and he finally let me go, since I can't move swiftly like them, he had carried to make their journey faster.

“Hey, you are now in our territory, mind your language with our Alpha or I am going to end you personally,” Zeus pointed to himself, glaring at me with a bit of rage.

“Enough,” Maddox stopped him and pulled me with me walking into the building.

“Welcome to my abode,” and I snatched my hands off.

“Maddox,” A girly voice screeched running toward us but her smile dropped when she saw me.

“Who is she?” she didn’t even hide the disgusted look and I rolled my eyes.

“Lady Bri… she is the new slave Alpha got,” Zeus replied quickly like he didn’t want to make her mad.

“Don't play with me now, you only went to Alpha Darren’s pack after much persuasion for me to go announce our decision to be at the coronation ceremony and you already brought a slave?” she gestured toward me in disdain.

She must be his mate, the thought of me having a mate already disappeared when I lost my wolf and child, I destroyed my body already so I don't need any of this.

“You don’t have to be worried,” he reassured the lady and moved forward.

“Zeus get her a guest room, and provide the necessary things she will be needing,”

“Maddox? Alpha?” they both called simultaneously, I was also surprised that this was what he had to say.

“Any problem?”

“You can't give her more chances, she seems to have bad thoughts against you,” Zeus proclaimed.

“Yeah, you brought me, why should you give me a nice life?” I solicited backing Zeus up.

The girl grits her teeth like she is about to bite me, seeing how I acted with the so-called Alpha.

“She might be a slave there but not anymore, everyone should treat her like a guest here if you don’t want your head off!” Everyone around huffed the same as me.

“Zeus go do what I say and also call the healer to make some concoction for her..'' He said, and left me there standing there speechless.

Murmurs erupted when he disappeared from our presence.

“What did you do to my Maddox? Why did he care about you?” I rolled my eyes at her question.

And then Zeus led me to a room as Maddox had said, it was a very nice and big room.

It made me recall eight years ago when I was living the best of my life with my parents before their death.

“I don’t know why the Alpha seems interested in you but I don’t trust or like you, so if I was you I would act like I don’t exist if I don’t want to die early.” He warned me but I just scowled.

“I would like to act as you wish but since you said that I won't,” I responded glaring at him, not for once Intimidated by his glare.

I might have been Darren's slave and shattered to pieces but I can never bow so lowly to the bastards who killed my parents.

He scoffed and walked out of my room, I fell to the bed recalling my sister, How would she fair now? Would Darren be mad at her? Would she be able to survive the pain she goes through?

My heart ached at the thought of me not being there to protect her, the door knock brought back my attention.

I didn’t say a word not ready to talk to anyone, “Lady Hazel the Alpha sent us here,” I heard from outside and that is one of the main reasons I wouldn’t open the door.

I dashed toward the door and locked, “Go back to him and tell him I won't open the door,”

“My lady, we can't we might lose our lives, please there is no choice,”

Their shaky voice got me and reminded me of my sister. I opened the door quickly and was met with two ladies and an old man old enough to be my father standing behind them.

“Thanks for accepting us my lady, we will be your new maid from now on,” they announced and bowed.

I cast them a long stare without saying a word, why was he treating me nicely?

“Are you sure the Alpha sent you to me or the other lady?”

“He sent us to you my lady so we can come in, the healer is here to check on you.” One of the ladies said.

The man also bowed and walked in even before I could say anything, “My lady you may have your seat,” he said as he gestured to the bed.

I did after much hesitation and the healer gestured for me to give my hands, I blew out a rasp of air and finally sat.

Then he shut his eyes. I could only stare at both girls who also stood there to watch what he was doing.

After some minutes he opened his eyes giving some weird look, “You don’t have to say much, my body has been destroyed,”

“Your body seems destroyed, you are wolf-less, but there is some kind of power making you still live,”

Then I recalled how my twin sister had given me some power to strengthen myself until I regained some strength.

“Yeah, my sis..”

“No, I feel the power of a Lycan in you, and this is none other than the Alpha’s,” He proclaimed as I snatched my hands from him.

“Don't tell me it's that of Maddox? He didn’t give me any powers and I don’t want it even if he gives me.”

I felt a new presence before me and the three of them bowed to him.

“Alpha what brought you here?” the healer asked and Maddox gave me some kind of confused look.

“Get her some concoction and you both should go make her food so she won’t lose the last bit of strength in her.”

He ordered and they all left making it remain just the both of us.

“Don't use your teleportation in my room,” were the first words I said.

“Don’t call my name, if you don’t want me to be in your room,” he let out almost immediately.

“I will never call you an Alpha or bow to you,” I countered.

He shut his eyes like he was bearing some pain, as he held his abdomen, something prompted me to touch it and I did.

His eyes widened and with his fast movement strangled my neck preventing me from breathing.

“Don’t try that next time,” he said and let me go almost immediately.

“Hope you can get stronger so you will be able to kill me,” he said and strutted to the door. I rushed toward him before he could open the door.

“What did you just say?” I asked and punched his abdomen making him groan.

“What the heck do you want?” he struggled to breathe.

I let out a smile seeing this, “It wasn’t my imagination, I had stabbed you truly.” I said and he looked up at me in shock.

“How? How did you know?”

“I heard you have a lot of interesting powers, I also recalled how you stop time, what is it you want from me?” he took in some breath and exhaled.

“You wanted to kill me the first minute you set your eyes on me, you were very quick to attack me, and I want to know why.”

I balled my fist, I wanted to lose it and tell him how he came to kill my parents, but I needed to keep a low profile so I would be able to avenge their death.

“You don’t have to know the reason,” I responded at the same time, a bit worried that he has different powers I don’t know if I will be able to handle.

“Why did you give me some powers?” he scoffed and shut his eyes like he was holding the pain he felt.

“Your body has been destroyed and you might lose it in a few days, so I need to keep you so you can become stronger and kill me.”

I snickered trying to understand him, “You are keeping me and even transferred some of your strength to me, so I can become stronger and kill you?”

He smirked and nodded his head, “Yes, it's the first time I see someone look me up in the eyes to say these words,” he said.

“You don’t have to rush, I might kill you so I want to give you some more time so gather up strength and fight me physically.”

He let out and teleported out of my room making me stand there in confusion.
