Chapter 5- The Kiss

Lily's POV

"I'm sorry, Miss Lily. We prioritized you because you're a VIP. But you're not the only one. We have other customers too."

I looked down and squeezed my eyes closed before I looked at him again. "Can't you do it again, Mr. Tan? Please! We badly need this. I already changed the design and it's final."

He shook his head. "I'm sorry, Miss Lily. Our schedule is already full. This is why I prioritize you because yours is not that much. We have thousands of projects to print after yours."

I chewed my bottom lip. There's no other way.

I nodded and looked. "Thank you, Mr. Tan. I'll just pick up the finished boxes."

He nodded apologetically. "I'm really sorry, Lily. If we're not full this week, I'll accept yours. But next week, our schedule isn't tight."

I shook my head. "The product is for distribution this Saturday, Mr. Tan. We can't postpone it."

He nodded and heaved a sigh. I bid my goodbye after that.

I called a taxi while carrying a box of the printed boxes of lipstick. I thanked Mr. Tan's employees who helped me.

I'll just find a way to make this work.

I went home carrying the first box. After putting it inside, I went out again and carried the second box. There are a total of three boxes and each box has 1000 printed boxes of lipstick. I'm glad this is just a preliminary product test. If this becomes successful, we'll produce more products.

"Fine!" I whispered to myself and heaved a sigh. "Let's do this."

I grabbed my phone and dialed Louie's number. She has a printer. I'll just borrow hers.

[Hello, Lily?]

"Louie, can I borrow your printer?"

[Oh, sure! Just get it at home. I'm at work.]

"Okay, thanks."

I grabbed my bag after that and went out again. After getting the printer, I bought ink and sticker papers enough for 3 thousand pieces of lipstick boxes.

I went back to my condo unit and started my work. My home is already a mess after I finished the first box.

I massaged my neck and looked at the door when someone rang the doorbell.

"Thanks." I smiled at the delivery boy who delivered my dinner.

I was about to get back inside when the door to the opposite room swung open. I met a pair of dangerous orbs, making my heart skip a beat.

He tilted his head and his sharp eyes remained on me.

My lips parted and my heart torn into pieces when a pair of arms wrapped around his body from the back.

A beautiful woman showed up beside him and kissed his cheek.

"Honey, let's go. I'm hungry."

I pressed my lips together when I recovered. I averted my gaze.

"Oh! Lily!"

Mari noticed me. She smirked at me. She knows that Rogue is married to me, but she can endure being a mistress.

"I have a dinner date with your husband. Is that your dinner? I pity you. You only eat pizza."

I squeezed my eyes closed and clenched my jaws before looking at them. I glanced at Rogue with a blank expression. He was just watching me with his brooding eyes.

"Let's go, hon."

Instead of paying attention to Mari, Rogue spoke to me. "Are you doing your job, woman? Or you're preparing yourself if I fire you?"

I balled my fists and held his intense gaze. "I'm doing my job, sir. I'm not unprofessional."

I turned my back and went inside my unit after that. I rested my back against the door and wiped the tears that rolled down my cheeks.

He's so fcking immoral. He's married to me but he's having an affair. And I want to smack myself for acting this way. I thought I already accepted the fact that he will never look my way but whenever I see them together, I feel miserable and lonely.

I was yawning when I went to work. I came at 5 AM and no one's around yet except for the security guard. I put the lipstick with the new boxes under my table. I worked on this for three days and now it's ready.

I rested my head on the table for a short nap. I'm so tired.

"Ah!" I screamed in shock when someone slammed my table, waking me up harshly.

"LILY!"

I quickly pulled myself up and wiped my face. My superior is now glaring at me. She looked so angry as she eyed me sharply.

"Where is the lipstick, Lily? Make sure its print is the newest design. We are all waiting in the first mall for distribution but you're just sleeping here."

I swallowed hard. "I-I'm sorry, ma'am. The product is finished. It's here."

I showed him the lipstick in a box. She looked at it and her face slowly lit up. She lifted her chin. She looked behind my table and saw the boxes.

"I'll call some male employees to carry those boxes. Follow me now. The CEO wants to see you. You really don't learn, Lily."

I didn't have time to even comb my hair. We went straight to the mall for distribution. My heart raced when I saw Rogue with Mari beside him, holding his arm.

I pressed my lips together and stood far from them. I was silent the whole event. I just excused myself when I needed to go to the restroom.

I pressed my palms against the mirror and stared at myself. I shook my head and started putting some lipstick on. I flinched when the door suddenly swung open and Rogue entered.

My lips parted. I heard the door click indicating he locked it.

He was looking at me as he walked towards me.

He stopped in front of me. "I'm impressed with your dedication and hard work but that will never change the fact that I hate you and I will never love you."

I sucked my breath. "I just did my job, sir. I'm not trying to impress you."

He licked his bottom lip and held my jaws. He smirked. "I found a way to make the most of you."

"What are you talking about?"

He grabbed my wrist and pulled me closer. I was about to step back when he pulled me closer and crashed his lips on mine.
