Chapter 9 - The good son

Kimberly's long and exhausting Sunday has come to an end at last. It was ten o'clock in the evening when she had the idea to call Nathan before heading back home. Kimberly thought that maybe he had dumped her already after their last meeting. Perhaps he declined the deal since money isn't something he gave value to, which she is certain of. His secretary always picked up the phone whenever she dialed his number, even though she was trying to reach him. It irritates her that Amy acts as if she were Nathan's girlfriend when she asks personal questions.

The following morning around eight o'clock, Kimberly makes another trip to the phone booth in the hopes that Nathan will answer this time. However, much to her dismay, it is the same woman again.

"Oh, it's you again!" Amy begins to make fun of the situation, mocking her. "Well, just so you know, Sir Nathan frequently goes to work!" She continued and swung her chair back to her desk.
