Chapter 3

Author: Circle Master
Rose’s cry immediately drew everyone’s attention to me.

As they looked at the cake on the floor, they spoke nervously, stumbling over their words.

“Alpha Claude is a devil! He’s the youngest Alliance Ultima in history, and also the most ruthless!”

“He also loves his mate deeply! I heard that a werewolf accidentally touched his mate once, and he chopped off that werewolf’s hand!”

I rubbed my forehead as I recalled it. That was indeed true.

That werewolf had been handsy. Claude made him apologize, not realizing he had dared to touch me.

Afterward, in a fit of anger, Claude cut off the hand that touched me.

“If Claire ruined the Ultima’s cake, will he kill her?”

I looked at the speaker in shock.

Was Claude really seen as such a brutal existence within the Alliance?

I’d have to make him explain this properly later.

However, my shocked expression was taken as fear by the werewolves around me.

Rose’s eyes were filled with the look of someone enjoying the show, yet she still pretended to be considerate.

She nervously grabbed my hand. “Claire! Run quickly! I’ll help explain things for you!”

Leon looked disgusted as he pulled Rose behind him.

“Don’t bother with her, Rose! You’re just too kind!

“Someone like her should have been dealt with long ago! If you help her now, you might get dragged down with her!”

At the word “dragged down”, everyone instantly distanced themselves from me. No one wanted to be associated with me in any way.

However, Rose didn’t do that. She shook off Leon’s hand and anxiously pulled me instead, pretending to care about me.

“Claire, I’ll take you away! When Leon abandoned you and chose me, I always felt guilty. So doing this today is only what I should do.

“The pack is developing quite well now. Later, I’ll beg the Ultima for mercy. He’ll forgive your rudeness.”

Leon sneered.

“Thank goodness I chose Rose back then. Otherwise, I wouldn’t even know when I’d be dragged to my death by you!”

Leon’s words immediately drew agreement from several werewolves nearby.

“Alpha Leon made the right decision! Luckily, our Luna is Rose!”

“Luna Rose is both beautiful and kind!”

I snorted and made no move to leave.

Leon angrily grabbed my wrist and dragged me outward.

“Claire! Rose is right! You’re just selfish!

“I’m telling you, today’s a special occasion. You’re going to cause the entire pack to suffer!”

Leon’s hypocrisy made me nauseous. I forcefully shook off his hand.

“If you touch me again, I don’t know whether the pack will be punished, but I do know that you, as Alpha, will definitely be stripped of your position.”

“What?”

I rubbed my aching wrist and looked at Leon, who was clearly stunned.

“Keep your filthy hands off me, Leon.

“And you too, Rose. Put away your act. It truly disgusts me.”

Rose clearly hadn’t expected me to tear through her disguise so directly. Her tears hung on her lashes.

“Claire… I did all this for your own good… I was worried about you. How could you say that about me?”

I gave a cold laugh and said flatly, “If you were truly worried about me, why did I never receive a single message from you during all the time I was gone from the pack?

“Why are you pretending now?”

Rose clutched the hem of her dress and didn’t dare meet my eyes.

At this moment, Leon’s eyes were red with rage.

“So, you admit it, Claire! You did all this to embarrass the pack!

“You wanted the Ultima to blame us!

“How can your schemes be so deep? You’d go this far just to take revenge on Rose and me?!”

I spread my hands.

“I’m not that bored. I came here today only to attend the banquet. I had no intention of taking revenge on you.”

As if she had heard the biggest joke, Rose covered her mouth and chuckled softly.

“Claire, stop pretending. How could someone like you possibly get into such an exquisite banquet?”

Leon nodded.

“Claire, I advise you to recognize your own status.

“Get out right now! Don’t drag us down.”

After saying that, Leon stepped forward, grabbed my wrist, and roughly dragged me outward while shouting, “Someone come quick! Throw this crazy she-wolf out!”

No one dared to question Leon’s command. In an instant, I was surrounded by a group of unfamiliar werewolves.

They tore at my clothes and dragged me violently.

Rose stood to the side, commanding others with the posture of a victor.

“Hurry up! It’s almost time for Alpha Claude’s speech!”

I struggled as the unfamiliar werewolves hurled vicious insults at me.

“Shameless! Taking revenge on your sister and dragging us into it!”

“Why doesn’t someone like you just die!”

Seeing me lying in a miserable heap on the ground, Rose leaned close to me and spoke smugly, “Claire, you deserve to be trampled under my feet forever.

“Goodbye.”

Just as I was about to be thrown out of the hall, Claude’s voice sounded behind us.

He looked at the crowd, his tone icy.

“What are you doing?”

Seeing Claude, Leon’s arrogance immediately weakened.

“Alpha Claude, my Luna and I were helping you clear trash out of the banquet.”

Claude took a few steps forward and helped me up.

“Trash? Who?”

Rose immediately pointed at me.

“Alpha Claude, it’s her!”

“She used to be my sister, but not anymore…

“She ruined the cake you prepared for your Luna! If you want to punish her, please don’t implicate our pack. We have nothing to do with her!”

After that, the pack members echoed one after another.

“Yes, this she-wolf has nothing to do with our pack!”

I saw satisfaction in Rose’s eyes, as if waiting for me to fall into hell.

Beside her, Leon looked relieved that he had chosen Rose back then.

Former pack members cast contemptuous looks at me one after another. From their expressions, they were waiting for me to be punished.

I couldn’t understand why the members I had protected with all my heart were treating me like this. During that riot, I was clearly the one who saved them.

There was even a couple whose child I had rescued while charging into silver blades.

To this day, there’s still a scar on my left shoulder.

Yet now they stood behind Rose, pointing at me.

“It was she who ruined the banquet! Please don’t blame us!”

“It has nothing to do with us!”

Even their child looked at me and said, “It was her! I saw it!”

The accusations from all sides threatened to drown me, with Leon and Rose echoing them from within the crowd.

At this moment, Claude stroked his chin and looked at me with a probing expression.

“Baby, did you destroy the cake because you thought it didn’t look good?”

Don’t believe it! It’s all Claire’s scheme!”However, at this moment, Leon no longer showed her the affection he once had. With a cold face, Leon pushed Rose away.“This is the Alliance’s conclusion! Wake up!”Rose then turned to look at me, her eyes filled with unwillingness.“Claire! Are you that eager to tea

Rose’s arrogance vanished instantly. Her lips trembled as she grabbed onto me.“Claire, why make things so complicated?“The members are just a little dissatisfied with you. If you apologize now, you can avoid the Alliance’s investigation altogether.”Claude wanted to speak for me, but I gently stopped him.“No need. I didn’t do anything wrong.“I won’t apologize, and I’m not afraid of an investigation.”Leon stepped forward and pulled Rose back, trying to calm her.“Rose, let the Alliance investigate. Didn’t you say Claire was the one who caused the chaos?“Then the truth will prove it.”So that was what happened. Leon had taken Rose and left early that day, and this was the truth he believed.Rose looked terrified, but suddenly she seemed to think of something.“Claude is her partner. He’ll definitely cover for her!”Claude frowned in displeasure.“The Alliance is impartial. Are you questioning the authority of the Alliance right now?”I followed up on Claude’s words.

Claude shifted to the side and avoided her.Rose fell to the ground disheveled, but she still refused to give up. “Sorry, I accidentally stepped on my dress just now. Could you help me up?”After saying that, she lifted her brows and looked at me provocatively. “Claire wouldn’t mind, right?”I smiled faintly. “Of course not.”My calmness was completely different from my past breakdowns because Claude was not like Leon. He would never do something so lacking in boundaries.Rose had pulled the exact same stunt before.Back then, when she had fallen softly into Leon’s arms, I screamed and questioned them.I couldn’t understand it. Why did she have to fall into Leon’s arms over a simple stumble when there were so many werewolves around?Just like now.At that time, Leon had helped her up with obvious concern, carefully adjusting her skirt. He even reminded her gently to avoid wearing such long dresses next time.Leon had nothing but disgust in his eyes when he said, “She’s yo

The sound alone sent several weaker members flying backward. Those who remained standing clutched their heads in pain.“How dare you!”Claude’s words made Rose’s face turn deathly pale.
